Alright, I have pretty much made this whole set, thanks to these amazing tutorials and templates, and one thing I can say is this: everything else you could just get away with making it once and calling a good enough. If you have the resources you should definitely make more than one helmet. On my third helmet, I finally have one that looks personable and is very solid. Also, another tip, just with the templates in general go into the printer settings and scale things if the pieces come out not fitting right. My first helmet was the original size and it was too big to stay stationary on my head. I scaled the templates down to 90% of their size on my third one and now it fits me perfectly. For the rest of my armor, I have scaled it down to 75% - 90% depending on the piece (I am a small person lol) and the set is now very fitted and overall looks better on me and feels more comfortable to wear.

Anyway you could make a video explaining how to make a helmet out of a cast?
@thebastard8905 жыл бұрын
If you're ok with losing the helmet, make it out of the foam (No visor, but add-ons are needed) then bury the helmet (with a piece of foam sticking up out of the sand) in moist sand, then pour molten metal into the foam piece sticking up, when done you should have a caste helmet with the previous piece of foam now being a chunk of metal, grind this piece off. I haven't actually tried this but I saw a vid on it, it was called casting metal from foam or something like that, it's a lost foam method I think. There are also ways to keep said foam tho
@jackofall95534 жыл бұрын
@@thebastard890 its called sacrificial casting, and it works best with easily incinersted materials. EVA foam isnt the best for it, and ive heard that it might even not work. Ive never tried it tho so go ahead.

Just got 2 quick questions. First of all, are there any ways to heat the foam without using a heat gun? Secondly would doing a bondo coat over this (similar to pepakura) work out well?
