Thanks for the great video! I used to use fiber based prints, but that's long over. Resin coated not nearly as good. More info on the prints/paper would be awesome. Who would print a photo on watercolor paper? Advice?

Stevie Nicks colour tinted her photos for her second solo album The Wild Heart (1983). This is the first time in all this time I have looked up to see how it was done. Your picture came out pretty. Is there a way to set that so the colours don't fade over time if you wanted to frame it? Thanks

You can use the Micador Fixative spray on photos or a laser printout to stop the pan pastels from smudging. The spray is acid free so it won't discolour the photo over time :)

Thanks for sharing! In working with restoration of old tinted photos, how does one determine if the color tint substance was panpastels, chalks or watercolor?

Any spray sealer should do the trick. A UV resistant one will ensure your work doesn't yellow as quickly

Hi Evette, this is the eraser that was use in the video however, most normal erasers you would use for pencils will work fine too www.zartart.com.au/product/ER450

Hi Susan, a spray sealer or fixative is best to use otherwise the pastel can smudge

I've tried to use PanPastels on glossy photo paper but it doesn't work, it doesn't stick to the surface. 😭

This video uses a semi gloss paper. You should get a very subtle colouring on the surface of a gloss paper. You can use fixative spray to keep the pastel adhered to the gloss paper.

@@ZartArtEducation I've tried a semi gloss paper and it works well, I like the results. Thanks for the tip. Gloss papers don't seem to work for me. I've tried different brands but the colors become pulver on the surface, the white on the paper stays white. Haha. Matte papers also work well, barely any dust, you can use very little color, but the blacks get very muted. Maybe this comment can help other people as well.
