I absolutely enjoyed watching this. I have arthritis so I had to be creative with how I did this. For me to keep the shape of the blanket consistent... I took apart a tension rod and used the two sides to hold the loops in place along with a #25 crochet hook to pull the working yarn through. Made this a lot easier for me to manage the process. It took a little longer to complete but I am satisfied with the finished product.

Luv it!! A couple months ago, I went racing thru the clearance aisle at Walmart and got really lucky. There were 6 skeins marked down to $2.50 each. 😳 🤔 I had no idea what I was going to make, I only seen pretty red and cheap yarn. I'll admit it, I'm a yarn hoarder and grabbed all 6. You so inspired me to get my red chunky yarn out and make this throw. 😏 😁

Today I went and bought wool today to start crocheting. I bought 4 x huge chunky balls of wool, because I loved the colour and texture. On the paper wrapping, it states "for arm and broomstick knitting" -I was totally confused. Came home, googled and your video caught my eye. First one I watched, LOVED your technique. Completed the blanket in a matter of 3 hours. If it were not for your detailed video, I would not have done this. Can;t wait for my next challenge. Thank you for making this super detailed instruction video. I had 2 pounds of wool shag that I tried to crochet (fringe made it impossible to see stitches) then arm knit (too loose) into a rug. I'd almost given up on this shag when I found your video around 8:35 pm. By 9:15pm I got the first 3 rows done and now I'm finished roughly 2 hours later. This is perfect and it's all thanks to your how-to guide! Side note: because the yarn is so thick and an acrylic it's more likely to come out in the wash if you just weave in the ends; I'd suggest stitching the ends into place after weaving in about 2 inches. ❤

I love how down to earth you are! You’re relatable and I don’t feel like I’m watching someone who is way too advanced for me to follow. I’m following your “change up pattern” technique right now and it’s coming out lovely! I made a giant blanket for my queen sized bed using the Bernat Blanket Big yarn which was WAY more expensive and it definitely could have come out better since some of my stitches came out much larger than others. I noticed the length wasn’t the same so I tried to compensate for it and ended up with much larger stitches in some parts and my toes definitely go through the blanket in those areas. My tip (as someone who is literally only doing this for the second time ever) is to each those stitch sizes. You’re right about not being able to measure each stitch if you’re making a big blanket but maybe use a different way to measure like using your hand. The buckling and curling at the ends is an issue but I’m hoping this time it’s better. Thanks for the video and hope you and the family are safe during these times!

Sharon, you say you get chilled when the temperature is less than 72. You may need to have your thyroid checked. Low thyroid can sneak up on you and feeling chilly is one of the most common signs. Great video. Thank you from another Sharon!

Low iron low sugar too. I have to take synthroid. And I have high blood pressure. I know when I'm cold it's iron or usually it's my sugar

Guy here who actually started doing this 2 days ago by cutting up an IKEA blanket into a long strip. Your video is way more logical than some others so will start over again using your methos. Thanks

Great video. I learned how to do this as a child. But as a grown woman I have not even thought about it. This has brought back some wonderful and blessed thoughts of me and my great grandmother. I'm going to Walmart today so I can make a blanket.

Thanks so much for making this video! I looked and tried two videos and got a little confused. Your video explains it well, is easy to follow and the result is beautiful. I love the two patterns too. Again, thanks for sharing.
