When I use the chenille yarn I sew the skeins together. I just overlap about an inch or two of the ends together and run a few stitches with a needle and thread matching the yarn. With the chenille the stitches disappear in the fluff and the join is completely invisible. There are no knots on the back of the blanket and you never have to worry about it coming apart.
@BeCozi
@BeCozi 4 жыл бұрын
The best way to connect chenille yarn is to make a knot. Sewing might not work when the blanket is used or washed: there is a very thin string inside the chenille yarn, not really sewable. Making a knot the way I am showing and cutting the tail of the knot makes it very small and not visible on a blanket. If sewing is working for you - great.

I will try this! So far this is the only video I have come across that explains that the first chain will become the width and the only video to tell you about how large the blanket will be at the end besides how many stitches (20). Only video to actually tell me I am making a blanket that is about 40x60"!! Thank you So much for that information!

This is a great tutorial, however I found this to be one of the most frustrating projects I have ever done . I tried for 3 hours to get this to no avail, as I pulled a loop up the previous loop came out , i had gaping holes and some of my loops in previous rows came undone . I put this project down and tried again the next day , same things were happening, left me very frustrated and now i have undone skeins of yarn that i can not take back to the store . I am an avid crocheter , I'll take a hook in hand any day of the week rather than doing a blanket this way

Thistooshallpass not without stating over. There’s nothing wrong with your method the ‘BeCozi’ way prevents curling edges and is more decorative. I’m working on my 5th throw and I like this method, but I made the same mistake as well with my first and it’s merino wool. I won’t be unraveling it. We live and learn. Hope this helps. God Bless.

Does anyone know where to purchase this particular yarn for "way less" that's machine washable??!!! 🤔😬

Hi great video, thank you! please can you confirm the amount of skeins for this blanket, 40 x 60, on your website it says 'Medium size throw 40x60 in: six skeins' but in your video above you say only 4 skeins. I only see one size skein on the website: '250 grams or 8 oz,about 35 yards'. please clarify and again, thanks so much, really looking forward to making my first blankie!

this is beautiful and soo easy! I want to know what formula do you use to know how many loops to start with for the measurements of the blanket you want? I want one to be 124"x28" and one 48"x38" and how much yarn for each?
