These are wonderful ideas and although my backyard is not as large as the ones you are showing, the many different design ideas such as plant, flowers, and shrub placement, retaining walls, ideas for living, lounging, dining, and cooking areas have given me ideas to complete the look of my backyard and side yard. I have a ways to go but my area has been quite windy for the last three weeks. Thank you so much for always sharing your ideas as they are very helpful. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾❤️❤️

Wow! I live in North Wales and am struggling on my own with the hardscape in my garden. I live alone and its difficult trying to work projects alone. My garden is on three levels and on the right side its just a long slope, I;m digging it all at the moment and am finding old bricks, tiles, fire glass that has just been buried in the soil in the past, I am sore and disheartened. You are absolutely amazing and your clients must be thrilled. Well done to you and your team.

Ah, that is SO kind of you to read comments and respond. I'm not getting much further on. A builder had been recommended to me, he came and looked at the job and the 'garden', gave me a list of building supplies to order. I spent the spare cash I had on £186 worth of stuff, it was all delivered and that was months ago! It's STILL sitting in the driveway, I've managed to Carey ALL the cement blocks down into the back garden and still no sign of him. I'm actually wondering whether I should go on a course on how to lay footings, build a wall and plaster it myself, but I have a really painful back and I don't know I'd make it worse, because all the cement, sand and gravel would have to be taken down there somehow?!

That is unbelievable! I am very sorry to hear that. I hope he comes back and fulfills his commitment to you. Your property sounds beautiful ♥️

It is far from beautiful. I live in a lovely part of the world and am lucky to see the sea every day. The garden needs a lot of work and I've done some but I just don't know how to organise the levels and slopes. One slope is 28 foot long and about 9 feet wide: that will be next year's project. Right now I've just left it and given up on the whole thing.bi admit it, I'm defeated.

Love many of your ideas. I live in Portugal, close to the Spanish border and I have a plot of land that's overgrown and very rocky, so it's hard to give that area, which is about 2 hectares, some purpose. I was thinking of turning it into a park with different seating areas.

all the videos i find for landscaping slopes assumes you're at the top of the hill.. that's my neighbor. I'm on the side. how do you garden that hill? is my entire backyard supposed to be terraced-gardens and steps the whole way down? I wish I could find better info on this, lawns are bad for the environment and I live next to a small woods with lots of critters.

The one with the boulders and hot tub might work at around the 9:36 mark. Had a lower retaining section at the bottom to help create a destination, then boulders/plantings/mulch going up.

Beautiful, but this is for people with money. I'm 57, and I can barely dig a hole for a tree in this soil. Actually, even the grass doesn't want to dig off in areas. I'd have to cut all of the dirt out myself with a shovel.

@BackyardDesignGuy4 жыл бұрын
That makes sense. The homeowner had told me the former but now that u mentioned it that doesn't make much sense at all. Although if you have ever dug deeper then 6" in the some areas of Portland Oregon it is like you're are digging in an old river bed. Maybe I can get behind that story after all.
