I resort to a little white lie - "ooo! I have to go - I have a 1:00 (conf call/appt, etc) and I'm gonna be late!" I make it a point to sound hurried and suprised "at the time." I know it's a lie, but some people (undoubtedly well-meaning), don't always catch-on when you're trying to wrap up a call. If I look at the clock and see that it's almost 3:00 or a touch after (for example) then my fake appt is at 3. That way the person doesn't think "oh she's got a few more minutes." I know it's a white lie, but I'd personally rather do that than risk hurting their feelings ;-(

Ghuurrll … I have comments on so many of these that I would literally be typing all day. So I’ll KISS it (keep it short and sweet). First, let me add to awkward situations - When I was about 17 or 18 right out of high school, I worked in retail. As I’m ringing this woman up with her purchases, I excitedly asked when her baby was due, to which she said “I’m not pregnant.” Ugh. To add to my horror, my mom said she did the same thing to her. I truly haven’t gotten over that. Second, to the perpetual scroller … if you and I were sitting at a bar having cocktails, I assure you I would never even look at my phone. I would be so engaged in our conversation that my phone would be way secondary 😊 Thank you for these tips. As usual, I pick up all my graciousness from you. You rock!

Oooo...the pregnancy thing 🤭 Yeah I have a rule that even if it's completely obvious - like, a woman is 8.5 months and ready to pop.... I keep my trap shut unless she mentions it first, lol ;-) MORTIFYING!!

I have found some people have no filter nor what’s socially acceptable. Not only ones you listed but also “how much did you pay for that” or “can I borrow your hat” then never return it.

I tend to be a cheerful splitter as I tend to feel like it all comes out in the wash, I realise that this is dependent on income and a few variables though. If I know I was drinking etc I will throw in more but if the person refuses accept halvsies. I tend to have friends who share similar values . I have a rule that if someone has called on tough times I will pay as I spent 2 years studying when my friends had good professional jobs ans some were unbelievably generous so I want to pay it forward. In terms of lending I will occasionally give a gift because it cuts out the awkwardness of being a lender and waiting on payback. If I am not close or don’t want to I just politely decline and take the queens advice of don’t complain don’t explain when I say no.

QQ: this is off topic but do you have a video on how to organize your closet? Seasonal, colors, category, accessories. I am also on the west coast (newport beach) so I am never sure when to move hot weather items to the cool weather closet, etc. - ugh!

Hi Anne - good question! In short - I don't have a video on organization, but I'll offer this: The rule of thumb when it comes to temperature vs season is: "Dress for the weather, not the season." It's been 80 on the coast in San Diego, so I'm still wearing warm-weather clothing, but have moved some of my very very summery pieces to another closet to start the transition. For closet organization, I group pieces into 4 EVENT SECTIONS: Professional, Casual/Chic Day, Night-Out and Casual Night-Out. (Create your own categories to fit your lifestyle.) Within each Section, I organize according to item, then color starting with lightest first. SO: Within CASUAL DAY I'd have Casual-Day Tops, then Bottoms, then Dresses. All organized light to dark. That's just my personal preference. It really DOES make it much quicker & easier er to find an outfit. I go straight to the Section vs looking at the entire closet. I hope this helps ;-)

😂😂😂 why you ask? - my new one! All I can say to all these is ✅✅✅😅. As per the bill, if it’s someone I care about a lot I would probably say, I pick up the bill this time, next time is yours 😅. But if she continues to be a little inconsiderate, when the waiter comes with the bill, I would give my credit card het/him and say “you can charge the salad and the margarita on this one, and the rest on this other”. Once the waiter leaves, I will say don’t worry we can split the tip 😂

I think it is so rude to check your phone constantly in social situations. It’s especially obnoxious if you’re checking social media. The friend in front of you is more important than any response on an Instagram/FB post.
