Look, hear me out. I came across this very interview about a year ago when I was going through a very, very tough time trading. Similar to Dan, I had experienced a euphoric and effortless profit ride to the top of a peak (the 2021 Crypto Peak, in my case). When things crashed, I learned that what I had been doing prior was not really true trading. It was in fact just riding the hype wave. That hardship led me to then learn how to actually trade, similar to how Dan honed his skills after the crash that forged him. If I’m going through a bad day, I always come back to this video. Something about Dan‘s energy is so radiant and contagious, filling one with hope but yet not with foolhardy confidence. Thank you Aaron for the immense service that you do for the worldwide trading community, I can definitely say that it is of my utmost appreciation. You rock! - Love M. Sobhani

This Dan Shapiro guy still doesn't realize what his mistake was from 2001-2003. It wasn't his trading style or bad luck. He was fighting against the trend. Tech stocks were in a major bear market and he was still buying tech stocks. Never fight the trend. That's rule #1 of stock trading. It took me a while to get used to being in a bear market too, after 20 years straight of bull markets. Fortunately, I figured out ways to make money, before I lost all of my profits that I made in the 90's. By shorting tech stocks from 2001-2003 and then buying gold stocks and silver bullion, from 2002-2011.

Dude this really helped me a lot. Had my biggest loss of the year to start the week. Took a step back and realized I was piling it on and needed to learn to take a step back... Went home, studied til 2am, came back fresh. TSLA ended up running on some pocket Aces... Made all of it back and took my account to new all time highs.

I've been trading since 2014. Trying to at least. This year in 2016 is when I ACTUALLY starting making money. Real money... Like thousands, to the point where I'd make 2k a day and was pissed I didn't make 4. I'm not the best at all and still trying to get the hang of things. (still a noob). Brexit happened a while back and it completely threw me off. I didn't trade until after but the aftermath had me so confused on what was going on. I took hit after hit and was fucked up mentally. A whole 2 months, couldn't make a dime. Mostly to the point where Ive forgot who I was or what I accomplished. Hell I forgot how I did it all because it was so hard to get profit after that. Again though I was new to making money, still am. Slowly grinding it out and getting my mind back together. It fuckin sucks to be in a slump man
@brickstunram9391
@brickstunram9391 7 жыл бұрын
Hey man, idk about your account size, but it might sound like you need to lower your trade size. I went through the same slump the first 6 months of trading, and I was trading too large without even really knowing how to trade. Whenever you start anything you will be the worst at it, just keep that in mind. Honestly man, you are going to have to lower your trade size to NO LEVERAGE for like a year and really sit down and learn about fundamentals and how to trade. Focus solely on remaining consistent! Don't even think about the money aspect. I did this and man has my trading turned around. I promise you bro, you will get burnt if you don't stop the bleeding. Hope this helps

The only way you should be sizing more than 2% of your account on a trade is if you have really high conviction that it’s going to go in your favor. That being said, you have to be able to identify high probability trades which in my opinion are in the higher time frame levels (Daily and above). Journaling and identifying your errors is a big aspect.

The title of this EP sucks you into getting through a trading slump. It's like listening to a Politian. Lots of words. No real answers. I have some advice that everyone can use.. When going through a slump, trade small. But stick your plan..If you have a proven strategy that works, don't get in the way.. Just trade position sizes and keep your risk small to where I the loss means very little to you.. Focus on the process. Not the results. Focus on the overall success of your plan over a series of 20 trades or so.. Use that sample size as a gauge to see if your method is working or needs adjustment.. One last point.. Dan is a swing trader that trades the trend. Well stocks trend about 15% of the time.. You need to have a method that allows you to trade what the market is giving you. Not what you want to happen.. Good luck and trade well!!

I really appreciate what you're doing here. However, you really should stop interviewing all these trading coaches and interview more actual traders like Peter Brandt, John Walsh and Tom Basso. I mean, this guy just rambles on and on without answering your questions. As soon as I heard his easy, salesman like voice coupled with his picture with a suit and tie I had my doubts and as soon as he mentioned his 'webinar' I basically switched off. e.g. you ask 'how did you go from losing for two years to become successful' and he goes off on this story telling tangent and talks about vomiting. Basically the whole interview I'm thinking 'what was the question again? What's this guy talking about'. Bit of a joke really, you can tell he doesn't even trade. All the other stuff he talks about is just rehashed common knowledge like 'your system has to match you'
@LevelofClarity
@LevelofClarity 6 жыл бұрын
I am pretty sure the interviewee does trade; however, his trading lingo reflects a style that is very different than what most of us use. It's almost like he trades technically (he references pivots at one point in the interview), but also uses order flow to determine his trade direction (he does mention looking at order flow). I do find this somewhat odd that he didn't go into any more detail, but as a trader who uses numerous techniques, I do understand the idea of using many techniques to analyze specific setups. With that said, it would have been great if he would have went into some kind of meaningful detail about what setups exactly he uses. It almost seemed like he did not know how to put any of his trading methodology into words. Really scattered for responses for sure, and definitely rambled way too much without directly answering any questions. And despite all of that, anyone who has been a retail trader for any amount of time knows mentally, psychologically what he went through (and what he and the rest of us still go through occasionally).
