it does not matter, NEVER PICK UP A LEOPARD GECKO BY THE TAIL!!
@thisismyshitpostingaccount59918 жыл бұрын
If it doesn't matter, does that mean I can pick them up by the tail? and he said they're fine with it, and hes been breeding them for a long time so I would take his advice. Just don't grab it too hard.

So you claim to be better at caring for Leopard geckos than him? You realize if he mistreats his leopard geckos very few people would buy from him. Ask a person who breeds leopard geckos. Although It's best to avoid messing with the tail, Leopard geckos do not like handling.

The tail will come off
@koahlybarger91058 жыл бұрын
like he said the tail will not come off if it is an adult. It is more common in smaller geckos for then to drop there tail, but you really have to try to make an adult drop it's tail.

that is true or the tail will fall of and you will have to wait to grow back pick it up by the waist

I don't trust this man. You're not supposed to pick them up with no warning because that causes stress. Sudden movements also means stress when that happens with mine I just put her down back in her cage. NEVER GRAB THEM BY THE TAIL. They will eventually drop their tails if you keep on doing it.

Repeat everything 5 times why don't ya, just get to the point, saying to not squeeze hard once is enough, not 20 times damn, waste of 10 min, first 2 min on both the baby and adult would be enough, waited 6 extra mins to here stuff I heard at the beginning of the video. Damn.

Leopardgeckos are night time active animals. In the wild they sleep all day and hunt at night. And I guess it takes some time for him to get used to his new home. He doesn't know if there are predators or something dangerous around his new place. I'm sure he will get used to it. Try to handle him and make him comfortable with having you around. Put your hand down to him when he's awake. Be gentle and let him come to your hand. That way he learns that you aren't dangerous.

I would separate them if they are already not. Some geckos do seem to grow slower. I have one that eats tons but doesnt seem to be growing at a normal rate. But you don't want them to be competing if one is much bigger than the other it will get the most food.

going back to what you said about albinos being calmer i have a temper albino who absolutely hates being touched what so ever my calmest leo is an enigma mix female and my enigma male is also very calm and will happily sit on you without panicking. Also how would you handle a flighty pregnant female as i need to check on her tummy to see how far along she is and her previous owner used to just grab her so i think she has been scarred from that.

I have a leopard gecko that jumped out of my hand about 4 feet and im not sure but it did have leg problems... Could have been lack of calcium from the previous owner (petsmart) or from the large fall. However, mine was a baby gecko that was frightened and jumped right off me so I can't really say. Point is just keep an eye on his legs and joints to make sure they aren't injured.

Hi,I bought both asking for 2 6month olds so they were old enough to tell the gender but at the same time I could watch them grow and what not. One was a little bigger and had a healthy sized tail when I 1st got them but not too much, the other was small with a skinny tail. The bigger one has grown like a weed, but the other one is growing very slowly (if she has grown at all) and her tail has stayed the same size. They both eat (mealworms and crickets) daily. Do you knowhowthiscouldbeexplained?

My little guy tends to be really anti social. He is a baby, Im not sure about how old but maybe around 6 months, He just kinda sleeps all day and night and also has a hard time catching his crickets on his own, we sometimes help him because he will go after the cricket and miss and then seem to forget that they are there. Do you have any advice?
@anthonybrady397711 жыл бұрын
I got mine about 2 or 3 months ago and all he does is stay in his cool hide all day and never comes out. He comes out at night to eat and that's pretty much it. Whenever I walk into the room he just sprints into his hide. He only comes out once which is at night to eat, that's it. How do I make him more social and make him come out his hide more?? And btw he is a juevinille
