I just got my baby gecko about 4 weeks ago. When I first got her she was super scared, ran around everywhere, and didn't eat. Now she's fat, lazy, and sleeps all the time. She's so lazy that now she won't bother to chase after a meal worm therefore I have to set it right in front of her. It's been 4 weeks and she already thinks she's royalty -.-

Baby leopard geckos are supposed to be hyper and loud, they calm down when they get older

It’s good for her to run around and be scared that’s a normal response after first getting a gecko not sure it’s good that she is fat and lazy but I would recommend taking your leopard gecko to the vet because if he/she isn’t eating that could lead to serious issues later

Millie .T petco is horrible to their animals. They don't keep them in good conditions at all. Sand substrait, heat lamps. No heat mat, improper humidity. Not to mention they keep tons and tons of babies in those enclosures.

Jake, I got my first leopard gecko about 2 years back and she's perfectly fine. I only have one concern. Her nose has seemed runny for ever since I got her. She never has acted unusual but it just worries me a bit. Thank you for the information!

I'm desperately wanting a reptile but don't know which to get. I love leopard geckos and their personality but despise crickets, fine with worms. I like cresties but feel I wont be able to handle and bond with them like I would with a leo. what do you guys think??

I still miss my leopard gecko. She had this little y shaped deal in the middle of her face. She had skin stuck too her face and wouldn't eat afterwards. She eventually got too weak to even move her head. We actually had her for 4 years.

Sorry :(. You could've just put the gecko in some warm water for 10-20 minutes ( depending on the shed) then help peel off the skin

I actually think it's best to get thin tailed geckos if you know the basics of leapord geckos, most popular pet stores selling leapord geckos have leapord geckos who don't receive enough food or are just not in a great habitat to be comfortable enough to eat and absorb heat. The malnourished geckos are ones that need the most saving, I got a baby leapord gecko with a thin as heck tail and was able to nurse him back to health with proper knowledge of what food is preferable and the vitamins needed, also to new gecko owners if you're feeding your gecko zoo med gecko food and they won't eat it get meal worms instead, they'll eat it. A friend gave me my first leapord gecko because they didn't want it anymore and it was nearly starved to death and brutally unhealthy due to them only giving them zoo med and giving crickets only on occasions.

Miss Asiatica no, the male will keep trying to breed with the female and it could stress her out so unless you want a bunch of babies and a stressed out female that will probably stop eating its best to keep them separate. Female geckos if similar sizes can be kept together but you'd need a bigger cage

LovableLovey AJ They are good by themselves, males CANNOT be with other males. Not sure about the well-fed when babies. Old enough to know the responsibility, leopard geckos can live 15-20 years so if you don't have your life plan figured out to the point where you know you will be able to keep one that long, dont get one. You can feed it a LARGE variety of insects (Crickets, dubia roaches, mealworms, hornworms, silkworms, phoenixworms) and also waxworms for treats. Heatpad is a must, they absorb heat through their belly so lamps are useless.
