My ferrets get very bored because unfortunately I'm stuck living somewhere where they only have a bedroom to play in once in a blue moon to get to go play in the living room I'm in the process of trying to save enough money to move out and get me and them our own place so they have complete freedom so this videos very needed thank you

When I first got Weasel and Lucy, they didn’t their own room like they do now. We had a small area we rented and I would let them out of the cage before I went to work and after I got home until I went to bed. I couldn’t wait until we could move and give them a bigger space. I would take them outside, but we didn’t have the space to set them up like I do now. Eventually, we were able to save up enough to buy a house (which I never thought I’d be able to do) But, I don’t think they were unhappy back then, I played with them all the time and they were out of the cage far more than 4 hours a day.

My ferret is pretty much pooped out after our 6-8 block leash walk. And, he even gets bored if we walk down the same street, 2 nights in a row, so I alternate taking him down a different street every night, or we get in the car and go to a park, downtown, the university district.

What kind of dirt did you use
@FerretTails2 жыл бұрын
I honestly got it from the dollar store. I have gotten from there for years and it’s one of the only dirts I can find that doesn’t work have fertilizer or any other chemicals and the ferrets have always done great with it. I use to try and find organic/natural dirt, but it’s really hard find it without some kind of added stuff that’s not safe for the ferrets.

Hi FerretTails I have a short question. I have 5 ferrets and I'm rescuing a ferret from an abusive home. How would I handle him? Apparently hes really agressive
@FerretlyFinn2 жыл бұрын
I know I’m not FerretTails, but I’ve had similar experiences as I rescue ferrets from abusive homes. Obviously do the whole “quarantine” thing so you can make sure that the ferret doesn’t have any issue such as fleas, mites and etc. During this time the ferret should get used to the area and space they are in. If the ferret is genuinely aggressive I would take it to the vet (which should be done when getting a new ferret anyways) and get it checked for adrenal. Aggression is a sign of adrenal. Sometimes putting a piece of clothing you have that smells like you inside of their cage can also help them get used to you. There’s more information on things like this in the Holistic Ferret Forum, you can just go online or even join their facebook group and go through the files.

@@FerretlyFinn I will be definitely doing quarantine as I've had to do it with all mine. I've had 3 rescues in the past but from what I've heard that this poor boy has been through I was just after some more in-depth information.. I have treatments for him at home and when he gets here I will be treating him for fleas and mites as a precautionary measure. He'll be going to the vets the same day. And I'm part of alot of ferret groups on Facebook. I'm even in the holistic ferret forum 🥰
