Alternatively, French cleats on a pre-leveled, pre-hung, pre-drilled piece of 3/4" plywood.

That's gotta be one of the most generic looking white dudes ever; you thought you could identify him from college 30 yrs ago?? Lol. He'd be 50 now, and this guy looks like he's late 30s tops... he must have been a very precocious child!

How can 4 screw/bolts on the back panel be strong enough to hold the whole cabinet up?
@noahdominguez9949 Жыл бұрын
Did you pre drill your holes? & if so, did you pre drill them through the cabinet & then the wall? & follow up question, do you have to pre drill your holes for something like this?
@ItchyKneeSon10 ай бұрын
There are very few situations in which pre-drilling is not beneficial. In the words of Shia labeouf, "JUST DO IT!!!"
@andrewbonthius78710 ай бұрын
Not necessary to pre-drill. I have never seen the adjustable extensions, but I've been solo hanging cabinets with a leveled piece of wood for years without the extension supports. Instead of the music though commentary on the importance of finding studs for all screws would be. good. Once you get the first screw in (always up top) you're pretty much home free.

Im a wannabe DIYer, I have to ask, do wall cabinets need support underneath?
@vespaman1018 ай бұрын
No. They are screwed into the wood studs on the wall.
@TheBakersGuild Жыл бұрын
Why the wood between the jack stands and the cabinet? I just put them right on my third hands and jack it up to my level line, then check the actual box for level.
@theoriginalmonstermaker7 ай бұрын
Probably bc it allows him to get it somewhat level first, and offer a stable platform to lift it onto... not to mention prevent damage to bottom of cabinet.

Is that a regular drill or a gun drill?
@infallible74257 ай бұрын
That's a regular drill not a nail gun, as it wouldn't be strong enough to hold the cabinets that would be full of plates cups etc

The short hand jacks are called Little Hand and the longer one is called the Third Hand by the company Fastcap. Here’s a link for Little Hand: amzn.to/3B0TUZr Third Hand: amzn.to/3ziXAoa

@RemixxGlamGal Жыл бұрын
Right, definitely can do this by yourself. Use a piece of wood to hold the cabinets….find your wall studs
@thenande Жыл бұрын
Same.. this looks dangerous. I've seen the installers for my kitchen cabinet use concrete wall anchors to attach a wood securely to the wall and then the cabinet is hung on it to support its weight and then finally screws to prevent it lifting out.
@martingeniz308 Жыл бұрын
Unless there’s wood behind that drywall will it work. But if it’s just a screwed to the drywall. It’ll be a matter of time until they start coming off by the weight

Find the studs. Level. I just took some 1950 cabinets, had nails. If you can have another set of hands will work...he has 3.

How do you Find the studs
@luissantiago2571 Жыл бұрын
With a stud finder. I personally like to use the little magnet stud finder
@andrewbonthius78710 ай бұрын
Stubs are usually 16" o/c (on center) starting at the closest corner wall. Try a screw or 1/4" drill first to see if you hit it. Then use a 3-4' level to draw a vertical line down the wall and transfer that line to the inside back of the cabinets. There are some good stud finders on the market, but be careful, there are a lot of bad ones. Sorry I can't recommend one.
