Great video thanks. You look exactly like one of the Alexandria residents on Walking Dead

Thanks, Timmy! Yes, I ised the same technique putting them on the ceiling as on the walls. Just make sure your holes are pre-drilled and you have a buddy to help hold it because it is not easy to hold the panel up and drill at the same time. (Believe me, I tried...) -Jordan

Great method, but I only want to clarify an acoustic concept: give more distance between the panel and the wall improves the low frequency range.

You skipped over an important part of the tutorial. How did you get the panel on the wall without showing how they actually connect to the panel for a secure hanging mount?
@EliteOnTheBeat7 жыл бұрын
Use carpet transition plates. Screw one on the back side of one panel and then one on to the wall.

I’m confused by this question.... The nature of the bracket is so thin and it’s placed above and below eyesight...you can’t see it from behind because it’s depth would likely conceal the brackets in the shadows

Does this help with sound coming from the outside room? I’m trying to quiet noise from my landlords side of the house 😂

Think this will help to hang a few of these around my pool? The concrete and hardscaping amplifies the sound from the pool and I'm in a neighborhood where houses are close together. I could hang them temporarily perhaps? I do not know much about acoustic travel, etc. Trying to just reduce the sound as much as I can without spending a fortune..

For small rooms, 4" thick wall panels should always be the minimum. Using 2" thick panels and a 2" air gap is more mounting work than it's worth. A 4" flush panel works better than a 2" panel with a 2" air gap. If you only have a 1" or 2" thick wall panel to work with... fine air gap it, otherwise get a 4" wall panel and forget about air gapping.

The panel just appears on the wall but can you tell us what you did for that step?

Isn't this panel too thin? I would take at least 80 mm...

is there a way to do this without leaving any marks in the wall im living in a rental space and dont want to leave marks
@GoldNava7 жыл бұрын
Havioc Darkmoon I'm sure you can hang up a smaller panel with command strips because they hold about 4 to 9 pounds!
@montrealmccomack17594 жыл бұрын
You can always use a bit of filler and paint to touch up when you move.

Thanks for the video!!!! I Have a question: as I am planning to build my panel I see that the wood for the frame nominal size 1x2 is actually 0.75x1.5. If the rockwool is 2 inches it will be thicker than the wood. Should 1 use the wood 1x3 which actuall size is 0.75x2.5? What is your opinion about using 2 inch (3 lb/ft3) cotton insulation?

my wall is 8 feet tall, should the panels be in the middle of that?

Ideally they should be at listening height but you can always move it slightly to make it look better.

My panels are about 25 pounds, mdf outer frames 3/4 inch thick 4 inches deep. Wooden inner frames for the cover. Rockwool Safe n sound insulation on the inside. Any suggestions for reinforced brackets? I just don’t want the weight to be an issue. I want a 2 inch gap from the wall

can you please guide us on how to make diffusion panels . are they really necessary for home theatre
@alex.b7555 жыл бұрын
Only if you have more than 10 feet between walls. Diffusion doesn’t work well in small rooms
@EricBBarker3 жыл бұрын
@@alex.b755 That's not true, diffusion works great in small rooms, in fact, it's almost better for small spaces. Diffusion actually makes the space sound BIGGER while randomizing and smoothing the reflections. For very large spaces, you typically just want to tame the reflections, so absorbers are king. For small tracking spaces, it's good to improve the reflections without drying them out too much. I wouldn't do it in a vocal booth (vocal booths are awful anyway), but a 8x8ft room is where a diffuser could really open up the space.
