Shelf liner/carpet anti-slide pads might be a workable helmet positioning add-on. Modifying that hanger top into more of a "halo" shape may give you more surface area to apply increased friction for holding helmets in mildly gravity defying orientations.

I printed the Galactic Armory mounts. Has both table top and wall mount options and the same wood dowel idea. Table top works great for painting, wall mount for displaying.
@75keg753 ай бұрын
Save money buying dowel, go to broom handle section of hardware store and get a straight handle it will be far cheaper!! I got 1.8m breo one for $10 but the dowel would have costed nearer to $30.
@thenextlayer3 ай бұрын
Nice! But please paint those dowels black!
@UncleJessy3 ай бұрын
😂 i was thinking about that but i kind of like the wood look to it as well
@donnymiddlebrook3 ай бұрын
If you make the top part more of a disc-like design, that may allow you to hang the helmets without them falling forward.
@MigMonkey3 ай бұрын
I just use good old EVA foam for helmet stand tops. Super cheap, easy to attach with a dab of hot glue, and you could probably turn the Top section of the print into a printable template easy enough.

Uncle Buc-ee 😁 The display looks awesome!

I use this one! it's fantastic :) Old wooden broom handles work too!
@angelikakurowicka71823 ай бұрын
You can try to print a piece in the middle of the pipe so it pushes the helmet forward and support it on its chin. Also if you make it a slidable piece, you can make it for any kind of helmet.

Velcro to hold them in place. The loop side in helmet. Hook side on mount
@christopherbaez72823 ай бұрын
This is very cool!! Def gonna try it, what I’ve done in the past with helmet stands to keep the helmets from moving is using thin foam sheets and adding them to the inside of the helmets with masking tape. that seems to do the trick. Kudos!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
@FinalMirage3 ай бұрын
Just spray them with plasti-dip! I did that with my mounts and that gives them a rubber coating and they hold in place great
@FinalMirage3 ай бұрын
I also put hot glue on top of one and that worked as well

I used my 3d pen and some TPU to put some lines across the top of my helmet stands. It works quite well and was waaaaay easier than cutting out foam pads.

There is also some slightly tacky “woven” look shelf liner that would easily prevent rolling.

Velcro and or Magnets using both you could print a simple very thin TPU spring that uses Velcro that would keep the helmet facing the right way and Magnets to keep it from moving, if the helmet is only for display then itsnpretty somple to put the Velcro magnet If it's part of a cosplay suit, you might want to Strategically, place the Velcro and magnets. So they can't be seen or felt, maybe incorporate removeable padding. That doubles as a way to display your helmet
@getbent573 ай бұрын

You can try printing the top part of the stand with TPU filament. That should give more friction to the helmets. In theory.

Just design a half dome that is a bit bigger("headsize" like) and boolean the triangle base you have now, out (maybe with a 1% enlargement for easy fitting), then print a few, for helmets that need that! Might be a nice vid, from start to end.
