15lbs!!! That's a great harvest man. And a lot of deliciousness, oh yah. Is that just the first batch for this season?

Great video, Joe. Question for you or others reading: I built the bucket setup as instructed, covered the upper bucket holes with cheese cloth (rather than paint strainer) and added several pounds of crushed comb. Within 24 hours, I got a decent harvest, but I'm convinced that there is significantly more honey remaining in the upper bucket. I suspect modest temps (65 - 68F) are partially to blame. Have any advice? Do I need to remove / replace the cheese cloth?

Sorry for the slow response. I've experienced this as well and one thing that I have done is actually squeeze the wax and honey in the strainer in order to extract all of the honey. You're right, a lot of honey will remain trapped in the wax if you don't give it a squeeze. Hope this helps out and thanks for checking out the video. Good luck!

Great, it looks better than using the extractor.

Why is your honey so runny?

Good question. This was a long time ago, but I remember that it was really hot, in the 90s, when we took the honey off that day. So, that could have been a factor or possibly the moisture content may have been a bit high. Either was it was still amazing:) Thanks for checking out the video and good luck!
