Mike, I know it's already been said but you make the BEST, most COMPREHENSIVE tutorials on the Interwebs! I can't wait to see your KSP2 Tutorials! 🤣 I know that the DEV's probably didn't think your channel was big enough, but it's a real shame that you weren't invited to the 3 hour preview with the other YTer's. You definitely deserved to be included!

I learned the fun way, or the hard way depending how you look at it, about cooling and power. Such a crash course going in unguided, and when I eventually got it all right in one take, the mission failed because I splashed down instead of landed!

Hi MIke, i'm having a blast watching and learning ksp again. Your teachings are excellent! Thank you.

I found a funny "hack" to complete this contract without having to get your resource harvester back to Kerbin: 1. Mine the ore on the Mun (or Minmus or wherever) 2. Once you have mined the correct amount, go back to KSC and create a ship that has ore containers, and fill them with the correct amount 3. Launch that ship a few meters off the launch pad and then let it land 4. Contract complete! I know, I know, that's not the point. But thought it was funny that there's a way to exploit the contract

Good to be back watching your videos. I've been running KSP/RP-1 recently - landed on the moon - wow, such a harder challenge than stock or even Kerbalism - MechJeb or KOS absolutely necessary. However, it looks like we wont have that in KSP2 for A LONG LONG time, so I thought to get back into watching stock KSP content(KSP2 content as of now), and why not with my fav content creator and the man that helped me get into orbit the first time.

I used to play KSP RP1, it was the most challenging game I've played in the past 6 months

Mike I have really really really enjoyed your videos. I have over 2k hours in the game and I still managed to learn a ton of information from your videos.

With the configuration at ~ 5:00 it is also giving you a 3rd advantage of being more stable with the legs further apart. Quite a few of my first Mun and Minmus attempts where a bit...tippy :D

Thank you for this truly top notch tutorial series. I am going to build up my skills in this game before I jump to KSP2 (hopefully after a few more patches hit).

Love your channel Mike! while yes KSP 2 is um... out i guess... I would still love for you to continue to make KSP 1 videos. and I happen to love your career mode tutorials. I hope you keep making KSP 1 videos along with KSP 2 content while KSP 2 gets ironed out

Working on new career mode tutorials currently. You should be seeing the first one next week.

While I had this going on in the background I was doing an Apollo 11 style mission but my lander flipped and when I tried to flip it by using the engine the game thought I was using a rover and gave me an achievement lol

This might be a bit late... I have one suggestion. A close to surface mun relay and/or station. I made and launched a sattelite into very low mun orbit. Its very neat.

Great videos! I have probs 300hrs in KSP but I haven't played for a while and got back into it recently because of KSP 2 around the corner. I am by no means good at this game and this series along with others have been great refreshers/tips and tricks. I was also bad at sizing my stages and would just and more fuel to get more delta-V instead of trying make the stages effectient. Thank you! One question tho, is the engineer a bonus or a modifier? In the video you said bonus but the math implied modifier. You did .3 x .0589(59%) x .45 (45%) = .008 ore/sec/drill If it was a bonus it should of been .3 x .589 x 1.45 = .026 ore/sec/drill.
@MikeAben Жыл бұрын
Excellent question that I was confused on at first too, but the engineer is really a modifier of the rate. It isn't a 45 percent bonus on top of the rate. You can see this at the end of the video where the base rate of the consumption of the Convert-O-Tron is 0.5 ore/s. If you multiple that by Bill's 45% you get 0.225, and if you check the rate at the top right when the Convert-O-Tron is running at the end of the video it's 0.23.

No. There's no science associated with those parts.

Last thing... Do you not publish your craft files on KerbalX? I mean I know that you go through the build process slow enough that we could probably reproduce them, but especially for the "ore return" vehicle, it would be nice to be able to just use your craft. 😂 LOL, call me lazy, I guess. Awesome stuff though. (I was following along with you in a Kerbalism save, but I just couldn't hack it! It's just too much radiation and food supplies JUST to get to DUNA and back! 😭😭😭 I went back to just using the mods "Snacks" and "Cryofreeze". Still can't wait to see your KSP2 Tutorials brother!
@MikeAben Жыл бұрын
Thanks. I have craft files available as a Patreon/KZbin Member perk. As for KSP2 tutorials, they will definitely happen at some point, but I may wait until the game is further developed. I'll have a better idea once I've had a chance to play.
@limonfr971 Жыл бұрын
Your calculation are incorrect, the 45% for the engineer is actually 145% in the calcul because he "improves" the drill efficiency, 45% would make it worse. But you understood that I guess, because elseway you would'nt have add one in the first place...

Do you need to deliver all ore in one go, or you can complete that contract with multiple delivers?
@MrKaffeGrums Жыл бұрын
I tried splitting a similar contract in to several smaller missions, but it didn't seem like the game tracked the amount of ore. If I had landed the vessels on Kerbin and kept them active, it might have worked, but it ended up being easier to do it in one go.
@MikeAben Жыл бұрын
No, you need to have all that Mun ore in a single vessel sitting on the surface of Kerbin for the contract to satisfy.
@revenevan11 Жыл бұрын
Hypothetically, although this wouldn't be practical, what if you had all the properly fresh ore on separate vessels landed back on the surface of kerbin, and then docked them together? Would the mission accept that after 10 seconds?

I have a question. Will you only upload ksp 2 after launch or will there also be ksp 1 videos after launch?
@MikeAben Жыл бұрын
There will still be KSP1 videos after KSP2. I've yet to decide what form they will take.
