The worlds largest production made grader rolled into @quintonbartolotta shop today and I saw it as a good opportunity to show you how we move these big oversized loads. Now I myself have never hauled a 24H... but I did have trailers like this one and the process is similar. All moves are a little different and have their own challenges, but the crew at Iron King knows what they are doing and this unload went really smooth.
Be sure to check out our Patreon project where we use whatever it brings in in a month as our budget to help someone the following month! I was never a fan of the Patreon idea until I realized that I can use it to help others instead of myself, so I created the Patreon Project where we can all combine our efforts to make a real difference in people's lives and make the world a better place! For as little as a dollar a month you can join the group of awesome people already on board and be vote to help steer the ship along the way!

Anytime you are moving, loading, unloading or operating any piece of equipment from a skid steer to massive mining equipment there is always ONE person designated as the signalman, everyone else around is supposed to call out a STOP signal only. We all know that never happens. I love at 22:35 Green shirt guys is trying to help but looks over and thinks "Ok I'll shut up" More than once I've had multiple people throw all different signals in dangerous situations, all you can do is stop and Politely say with as little profanity as possible "He/she is the only one that should be giving me signals" lol

Hi, Casey LaDelle. Thanks for the video - well done. The Cat 24H is the world's largest CURRENT production grader as the Champion 100T WAS a production grader but is no longer produced. What a LOTTTT of people don't know is that Acco 'ackshully' built a 'prototype' grader BEFORE he built the REAL one. The 'prototype' was apparently all on single tires and 'only' weighed a 'mere' 160 tons. From what I can find out, both machines existed at the same time until both were scrapped when his estate was wound up after his death and the death of his son shortly afterwards. The Acco dozer has been saved and is currently in storage in Italy not far from where it was built. Just my 0.02. You have a wonderful day. best wishes. Deas Plant.

Heavy haul and big equipment is the industry I've been in my whole life. It blows me away that people think this whole off road recovery thing is so interesting, because it's amateur hour compared to the work I did before moving to Oregon. The off road recovery thing was just supposed to be a filler until I got another heavy haul setup after losing mine to a fire during the move, but then I started filming it and it took off WAY bigger than I was expecting/hoping.

There is another aspect of hauling a load like this down the highway. You touched on one briefly- which is the escort car or truck also called a pilot car. These are cars with signs and revolving lights that either run in front or behind or sometimes as mentioned there are two cars. A load such as this as the sign on the back of the grader said" Wide Load" which means it takes up a lot of road. These kind of hauls require a permit - and theses are issued by each state the heavy haul drives through. These permits have to be issued in advance. Also- there are some days (national holidays) that heavy hauls are not allowed on the road. Another thing depending on the destination is bridges (most interstates are a certain height- but some state roads are lower. Also - the weight limit of a state road of the bridge (the heavy haul load may be too heavy for the bridge and the driver has to pick another way to go around). So basically if the load is too heavy you are not allowed to go from point A to B)
@haroldphipps3457
@haroldphipps3457 9 ай бұрын
All correct, except the routing. The state issuing the permit does the routing. If the load is tall and or wide, it is still best to pre-run the route. Sometimes bureaucratic screw ups occur.
