I used your MC video before I went into my first MC and it was a huge help. I have probably watched this video 10 times today before a guild trial of AQ40. I would love a BWL video as well. I find your insight very helpful and very few guides cover the holy paladin aspect of these raids, at least that I have found.

great video! always good to see what other paladins are doing. I rarely use seal of light but putting it on the tentacle inside cthun is a great tip. Few things I'll add: -Cthun P2: helping with stuns on eyeball tentacle adds, especially the big boys. shadow aura here also helps with the mindflay dmg from eyes if your raid isnt doing a great job getting them down quickly -Twin Emps: stay away from your warlock tanks when they are tanking to reduce the chance they get caught in blizzard. i run frost aura to assist with raid dmg on blizzard as well. -Ouro: i seem to always be in sweep range even at max range of the tanks so I always time the sweep to just step back a few steps before the sweep then get back in to keeps healing going without gettin knocked back. Maybe its my guild's positioning? if you have a solution let me know caz i hate having to waste GCDs moving my feet.

hey Nick! Thank you for the insight! I gotta try out the stuns on the tentacles this week. As for Ouro, I haven't 100% figured out what is going on in that fight and how to avoid the sweep. In my video footage here even I got knocked back. But yeah, any sort of additional movement is annoying for us since we lack insta-heals (for the most part)

Immature Venom Sac from LBRS spiders makes life much easier on Viscidus, it makes you focus on healing instead of cleansing. in my guild we run fast LBRS runs before AQ40 since they are only good for a duration of 1 hour, a stack of 10 for each raid member should do the trick.

we run it earlier in the week, xfer to an alt, summon him outside the instance, then hand out 15-20 to each raid member at the start of the raid. There is a way to reset the timers on the sac that we do, just google it if you need the info. The Sac's make Viscidus a BREEEEEZE.

Hammer of Justice is extremely useful for stunning the large eye beam tentacles in P2 C'Thun and you should be looking to do that 100%.

Quissy yeah both the big slam ones and the beam ones can be stunned but its most important to stun the beam ones so that you can essentially ignore the eye beam mechanic completely in P2. And no worries, stay awesome!

Nice video, keep it up. I’d suggest looking into changing your helmet and chest piece if you can though, mish and RoVP are just not good for a holy paladin. Crit is fine, but it’s vastly over weighted on items. The amount of +healing you lose in return for the crit is insane. And crit really only helps if you’re going fully OOM, otherwise it’s fairly useless as Mp5. And using mana pots/dark runes on cooldown means you’ll never go oom. Otherwise your gear, spec, and knowledge is pretty on point!

The crit also provide a translateable +heal (as in crits heal for more) with this kind of level of gear (BWL+) each point of crit would mean ~10-20 +heal (depending on gear) and +5 mp5 for a pala. If you compare Mish (55-75 +heal & 10 mp5) to Don Rigoberto in AQ (64 +heal & 11 mp5) we can see that they are comparable. What it comes down to is if you need to cleanse a lot (since it doesn't trigger Illumination), and if you prefer less variation in healing numbers. I prefer +heal myself, but don't disregard +crit.

Kyouki1337 you’re right crits do provide more healing. However if you look at any Warcraftlog the typical raid in Classic has every healer sitting between 30 and 50% overhealing. Trying to heal with crit heals is just not efficient because the most likely scenario is your bonus healing via crits will be overhealed and not useful. @@Sokanoted But here's the thing. If the heal crits, 100% of the mana is refunded. This is something exclusive only to holy paladins. So whether or not it overheals, it really doesn't matter as long as you're not OOM half way thru the fight. It basically comes down to two methodologies. Either you stack +healing and downrank (like all the other healing classses) or you stack +spell crit and spam max rank. I've literally tried both out and it really didn't make much of a difference especially with world buffs.

1% crit = every 100th cast will be free. 100 cast = 150 sec flash of light 6 lvl = 140 mana brilliant wizzard oil ~= 1 mp5 / brilliant mana oil = 25 bonus heal and 12 mp5 (NOT ONLY IN BATLE!!!) -_-

Yeah its insane how much crit is over-valued as a holy paladin. Its obviously not trash and the additional healing is to be taken into account on top of the Mp5 but honestly in this case you should literally never use brilliant wizard oil. additionally if anybody tells you mish is better than dons hat, they are full of it.

The wizard oil also gives you +heal even though it only says spelldamage in the description (tested it on my heals). So you get 36 +heal and a crit and crit is not just about the mana return, it is also about doing bigger heals. So it all depends. On longer fights (like the twins) you can use manaoil if you have mana problems, but i have similar gear like Quissy has in the video and i can keep my mana up with manapots and runes, so even there i still prefer the wizard oil.

150 / 140 is actually about 1 mana per second or 5 mp5. It also increases your healing amount more than just 11 more healing because of more crits. In my opinion which one is best comes down to personal preference, choose the one you like best because they are pretty much equivalent. Having lots of crit and mp5 like T3 has is the way to go as far as gear. I prefer to use mana oil because my gear isn't the best, and 12 mp5 makes a bigger impact to my total healing done.

As stated before, Brilliant Wizard Oil also gives healing even tho the item states spell dmg. Now as a Paladin you should never ever go oom as long as you brought consumables and you actively use them, therefore you should always go for more healing before anything else. Wizard > Mana

1:23 Having mana refund when you crit is nice and all, but stacking crit in general is just useless as with your base crit, consumables and proper downranking will make sure you'll never have to worry about mana, now imagine when you have worldbuffs. Therefore stacking crit items like Mish or RoVP is just a bad move it will actually reduce your healing output and you'll steal items from people who really need them (casters).

Just FYI spell damage is not only damage but healing as well. :) (+SP=+Heal in regards to coefficients per healing spells. Ergo, +15 SP will behave the same way as +15 healing.)

@@Quissy Very nice vid :) My guild is doing AQ as well. I cleared with them for the first time last week and on Skeram I was told to stand on the elevated ledges that run parallel with the stairs. I think that helped a lot with LoS issues on the fight
