My parents were killed in a car crash and the next year my fiancé died of lung cancer. I was devastated. I listened to Eckhart and Tich Nhat Hahn looking for relief. Tich Nhat Hahn said to find the pain in your body, breath into it and tell the pain, "I know you are there." then he said to take deep breathes into the pain and reassure yourself by saying, "I will take good care of you." That was a few years ago, and any time I feel terrible emotional pain, I stay in the present and breathe into my pain and I say "I know you are there, I will take good care of you." Thank god for these two men.

I do this even when I'm in pain this present moment is absolutely perfect..It doesn't matter if I am personally experiencing pain as that does not take anything away from the perfection of this now moment. It truly is amazing and it can be used in manifestation work and self-healing..I've experienced miracles in both doing this...hope this comment helps someone. Namaste

@@lindapelle8738 I do offer that and this was my way of giving direction.. starts with Presence, meditation and working with a practice I do religiously called”Heart-Brain Coherence” and what I did was made the reality of perfect health more real in my mind than the physical suffering I was experiencing. It took me three years though if I had no more at the time I probably could’ve done it in a lot less time. I just don’t have the time nor the space to explain the steps on a video comment stream. I have done courses though, and I have several uploads on my channel that I explain more and people are healing. I also recommend people to look into Joe Dispenza, he is amazing and explains how this is done better than anyone I know of.

It's bizarre to feel depressed and raw, but to not *identify* with those feelings anymore. I'm sad things happened, but accepting that they did. I had a near-drowning experience when I was about 6 or 7 in a public pool. It was my sister who kept pushing me under and I got to the point where I could not breathe. I finally decided to just breathe in the water and next I remember I was on the edge of the pool with the lifeguard pushing my chest and coughing and in trouble with my Mom when I got mad at my sister for pushing me under. It was never talked about. Since then, I've always had social anxiety, claustrophobia, and breath holding but didn't realize until today when I realized I felt like I was underwater and could not get a breath and that situation came back to my mind, looking up at the surface, not being able to reach it, and deciding to breath in the water when my lungs were going to burst. I thought this dying feeling is actually sort of peaceful. I've never processed this event with anyone. I didn't realize this event from so long I thought I had put it behind me was causing all this emotional pain in my life (I even became a class IV-V kayaker to 'prove' to myself I was no longer scared of water and was 'over' this event) . Like I didn't matter, was invisible, didn't deserve a breath, like the feeling of death/giving up would be more peaceful than living, etc. Life has been a 'struggle' since then, like the struggle under water. But now I can process it and observe it and the related emotions/messages/thoughts in a new way. I really like what @chickadee677 said about saying "I know you are there, I will take good care of you." to your pain. This book and discussion have totally opened my eyes. Thank you

I have been relatively conscious of my mind activity last two months and this month I totally lost it from a trauma in the relationship and it was like a very strong relapse of some drug addiction. hit me in the face so hard that I thought the peaceful state of the last two months was a sort of fraud... but you know. As Eckhart Tolle said, it also feels like it eventually leads to awakening because I can't live with such pain no more.. I just hope I quickly get to the level where there's less suffering even though I think suffering itself is very painful but also a part of the awakening process. Life is so mysterious...

I have that too. Guilt is a horrible and silent attacker. Only meant for us to stand up behind what we think is good for us. And we are too lazy it yells at us. That’s guilt for you. But too much of it can cause you to cave in and escape all that yelling. So I guess we need to let it yell but keep doing the good stuff. Until we don’t need to be yelled at by ourselves.

If you could have done better you would have done better. We can only act effectively from the state of consciousness that we are in at the time. Don’t feel guilty and don’t beat yourself up. Just learn to be more present and move on. We could all handle things a little better at times but don’t. Such is life and learning.
