I am so glad that the Orthodox Church doesn’t have people running around like the charismatic’s do, speaking a ‘word’ over everyone they see. It’s unstable and questionable. From this lesson I have learned that God speaks from His word every time I open it. We speak to Him through prayer, He speaks to us through His word. I can live with this. Thank you.
@ntlearning10 ай бұрын
Ironically, that's how charismatics do it too hahaha. The Word always comes first and is the normative approach to hearing God's voice. Charisms are different..... but should always line up with the word. That's why the Didache gave instructions on how to know the authentic from the counterfeit charismata. I can live with that. If you know the word, you will know the counterfeit. The problem - people don't know the Word of God.

The questions at the end shows how unwilling to submit we are as humans. The subjective and philosophical facts go completely over our heads with the temptation of the possibility of not needing the WILL to submit. That’s why we all would rather see apparitions because the doubter in us feels the need for objective proof. Amazing

When God is at the center of the mind, his voice can be delivered to the heart. All mindful efforts are described in the Bible by faithful ancestors. Altar helps to tune my attitude toward God. Other examples would be explained in the Bible.

I love coptic church and coptic teaching. Its more close to evangelical spirit than chalcedonian orthodox. Chalcedonians are like saying you need to just reat jesus prayer and you never cannot hear voice of God becouse everything is from satan. Spirit of Coptic Orthodox church is evangelicao spirit. Too bad I dont have any acces to it so i am without church

Such a good, lively, intelligent, motivating young priest with great sermons. I wish we could find a way to bring Orthodoxy to American youth and fill those seats... Lord knows I'm trying myself to interest those I know into the understanding of the true and original faith. So many Protestants are susceptible to our message.. they just haven't heard it yet
@gabrielgabriel5177 Жыл бұрын
Coptic orthodox church is spiritally almost same as protestant. Both have same evangelical spirit at that is good. Chalcedonian orthodox is complitely different. Chalcedonians seems to be saying that you never should even try to hear Gods voice becouse propably satan will talk to you.

+Ammusie Ammusie Excellent wisdom very profound yet presented in a simplified, easy to understand ( and consequently hard to obey) . He has that rare quality of being able to present truth and wisdom in a humble manner, thinking more interested in his audience and their benefit than trying to appear superior with his education and intelligence.

I wish the orthodox church near me was like this. They sing/chant (which I dig) but that's it, no sermon. And they never sit. I have feet and ankle problems, I cannot stand in one spot that long; not for 2 hours.

Excellent sermon father. I give a children's homily about our busy lives and how it keeps us distracted from God. It was for the adults as well but..... I was talking about just like the plants around our house need care. We need to care for our souls. Excellent sermon Father. What church are you at and where is it located I'd love to see one of your sermons?God bless you Father. Thank you🙏 Subdeacon Christopher

Just because they don't belong in the Orthodox Church, Doesn't mean there not Christians who are saved and Believe Christ's as Lord and savior. Your way of thinking is cultish
@alemberhe76094 жыл бұрын
I totally agree with you that we have to love you (or them). Love is the highest command after all. In no way do we have to respect "their beliefs" however. The fact that you began your sentence with "you need to" is prideful. My advice to you as an Orthodox Christian is also that you love God and love your neighbors, before telling others what "they need to do". God leads those who earnestly seek him on the right path, and when I am certain that Orthodoxy is the right one for all, I will not tell you that you "need to" be a part of it. We all need God's Grace and help; may He provide it to us all in his magnanimity. Amen.

I like this priest guy but man so wrong ! If you meditate or meditate and repeat the Jesus prayer " Jesus Christ son of God have mercy on me and heal me " or any meditation after you sincerely pray for what you want an answer to...I have had things happen/ and even answers came via my environment ...- in fact Jesus made himself known to me as a Lion in meditation when I was on Buddhist path....I prayed to have God reveal himself and he did ! so meditation and prayer both - can have magical things happen....
