...just heat-moulded my new Powerslide HC Evos. I usually take a size EU 42 in a wide fitting and they felt really narrow at first, so I heated at 100ºC for 25 minutes, keeping a very beady eye on things all the way. I also left the axle bolts in the frame during the process. Have to say, the difference in fit before and after is quite stark. Totally different boot - the word "bespoke" keeps springing to mind. Full marks, Powerslide, you really nailed this one. 🎯⚡️☄️💥🔥

Hi all at Powerslide! The heatmolding temperature you mention in this video (80-90 C°) for this specific 2018/2019 model boot is very different to the temperature you mention on your website, which states a temperature of 110 C°. Now which is correct? Are you deliberately staying on the safe side in this video? I brought up the nerve to try both temperatures. 20 minutes at 90 degrees didn’t seem to do very much for me (my problem area = ankle bones) and 15 minutes at 110 degrees in a preheated electric oven seemed to work much better, and without problems. No melting, no deformations, no smoke. 😆 Although next time I would probably remove the buckle straps as I’ve recently read somewhere that they could get a bit too soft and strip easier when you really tighten the ratchet buckles. I guess just lacing them very tight would work good enough. Is this something you would recommend also or do you think it’s not necessary at all? Would you be so kind to clear this all up? 🙂
@PowerslideInlineskates
@PowerslideInlineskates 4 жыл бұрын
higher temperatures will fasten the heating process of course, but chances for damage ar higher. if you want to go safe, stick to 80-90°C and keep them in a bit longer until you feel the carbon boot becoming soft/flexible. yes, tightening your laces can also work fine.

The EVOS 2 fit me quite well out of the box. If I lace them very tight, my toes get numb after about an hour. Will it be better without heat molding or is there no break-in phase without heat molding with the EVOS?

unfortunately the tau skates are not heat moldable for now. we would recommend trying different (or no) insoles, arch support inlays, changing your frame position or the pitch & stride control for a different frame angle.

Hello I'm about to heatmold my evos 2.0 but I have a flat feet so I'm using yellow superfeet insoles in them for arch support. I want to ask if I should keep them in my skates for my health sake or if heatmolding does cure this problem by molding base insoles of the skates in some weird way that it will support my arches

that is almost an orthopedic / doctor question. for heat molding, take the insoles out. afterwards if you have good results with your insole, keep skating with it.

hi i bought the powerslide evo pro 90, in size 39 with 6mm longer than my foot, the number 38 felt too tight. however the skates are too wide, and the toes move too freely. is this big difference in width between 38 and 39 normal? if the thermoform will adhere better to the foot or not tighten more than it currently is? thank you very much, I hope to receive an answer

hard to have a frame doing city and distance skating. Maybe a 12.5 3X125 elite can be good but a bit long for the city then.

Hi! I ordered the Evo skate, and right out of the box they seem very comfortable. Lenght and front area seems to be right size, but lower heel section could be a little more tight. I haven't heat molded yet. Can I pinch the heel while the carbon is cooling down from heating to make it more narrow?

Hi team! I just picked up a pair of HC evo trinity and they were very comfortable out of the box, but after ~15 minutes, I felt pressure points on the outer part of my left pinky toe and on the inside of my ankle bone. Will heat molding help widen the boot and relieve these two pressure points and would you recommend using a tissue to facilitate the widening? I called inline warehouse and the person on the phone advised that it'll make the boot "smaller" (their words), so it won't help with my ankle bone pressure point. Thank you in advance! I would really love to make these skates work
@PowerslideInlineskates
@PowerslideInlineskates 4 жыл бұрын
heat molding will not make your skates smaller. yes, you can add a tissue on the area where you feel pressure to get an extra few mm's of space where it is needed. try it, will feel way better afterwards.

My feet are actually almost the exact same size as yours (25cm length and between 95mm and 100mm width) and I also bought size 40 Evos and have been experiencing a really tight fit in the toe area like you. Hey so I've now heat molded my Evo skates twice and it's gotten a lot better. I still have a pain point on my ankle, but after the heat molding and more break-in, my feet hardly go numb now (and I'd expect that to continue to get better with more break-in). Hope this helps

I tried this and it works good. But one tip is. Heat mold it and wear them to let them fit. Wait a little bit until they adapt to your feet. Take them out when they still warm. Strap the laces and buckles and then put them in the refrigerator. I feel the fit is even better then.

Hey guys, i offered a pair of those boots and mounted 125mm wheels with a 255mmbase. There is a 2mm gap between the front wheel and the left boot sole....so everythings fine...but on the right boot there are just 0.5mm - none space at all and when i step in I immidiatly start to break...the shop assistant told me that its normal and could happen due to the fact that this is a handmade boot. they told me i could use some spacers to get rid of this problem...but for the money i dont want to use any spacers cuz i want to be as low to the ground as possible...so my question: Is it doable to heat mold the nose of the boot a lil bit up so i can produce the 2mm gap on my own? Or is the boot too stiff for that? Thx in advance guys or for anyone who could answer that :)
