Hi thats a great video and is helpful for my daughter. School Teachers are complaining almost in all PT meetings that she is unable to converse, I my self helped her to learn with most of the techniques u showed, she is improving but still not enough.. She is in class 2 and is 8 years old now. If anything you can add in for me to boost her confidence for conversation would be of great help. Thank you.

That was my class. teach kindergarten and Taiwan and what I did was I made the misplay time for a month until they could behave . Of course I would give them chances they usually got two chances and if they didn't succeed as a class then nobody played usually didn't take the whole play time maybe 15 minutes but after doing that they started to behave and follow
@meggrotte47603 жыл бұрын
You need to have something that they value and don't want to lose. for my 20 years of teaching most kids don't like games usually after maybe fourth grade . It also depends on the school. Will they let you play games or do they just want the kids drilled. Speaking of that do you have co-teachers that help you that's part of their job you know. If there's kids that are particularly problems and you've tried to do different things my suggestion would be talk to the co-teacher and have them immediately talk to their parents. Also tell them that you're going to ask the co-teacher to give them more homework if they cannot behave

Hello, Your videos have been incredibly helpfull in my esl classes. Do you have any advice when a student refuses to turn on her camera? she is 10 years old
@MooncakeEnglish4 жыл бұрын
Hi Paola, thanks for watching! I'm so glad to know the videos have been helpful 😊 Regarding you shy 10 year old, depending on her English level you could turn the camera into a topic of conversation and try to discuss it in English. Does she like taking photos or videos? Does she speak with family online? I think it's important to respect that she doesn't want to be on camera and try to understand why. Maybe she needs more times to get to know you or used to having classes online. You can ask if she would like to try putting a teddy (or another object) on camera for the lesson at first and see if you can get her to feel more comfortable step by step. Most importantly, I wouldn't pressure her too much as that may make her feel more uncomfortable. Of course I would also explain the situation to parents so they know that it may make the lesson a little harder and see if they can help from home. I hope that helps!

Just a quick editing tip: cut to the chase, and put the "subscribe, find more info, yada yada" at the end :)) it's soo much nicer
@MooncakeEnglish4 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for watching and for the feedback! I also think the intro is a little long, I’m looking at ways to shorten it. The reason I add the subscribe thing at the beginning is because it helps the channel reach more teachers when there is interaction. Most will watch on average 50% of the video (pretty good by KZbin standards) so they won’t make it to the end. But as I say, I’m working on how best to improve the intro so I can get to the info quicker! Thanks again for the feedback, it really helps me to improve 😊

What a useful channel! Thank you for sharing! Can you make a video on how to handle kids who are misbehaving & disrupting the class? What positive disciplinary action can we give them? I recently encountered this boy, who is hyperactive (despite my games involving so much movements) and he keeps on getting out of the group, climbing somewhere, or purposely getting my props from me while I'm using them. Other kids who are trying to learn get distracted by him & sometimes they follow his lead, which turns the class into a chaos 😳 he doesn't listen no matter how many times i ask him to stop, please help 😵

@MooncakeEnglish4 жыл бұрын
Hi Sharon, thanks for watching! I actually have one of those students in my class now. I manage it the same way I would manage other unwanted behavior. So if I am running a team game, the team might loose a point, or the student might loose a star. I do explain that I know that they know the answer but they need to give others a chance to try. I hope that helps 😊

@@MooncakeEnglish Some kids don't care about stars. They keep talking and going to drink water at the same time duting class. I don't want to shout but I don't know how to be friendly and professional in this case.
