Question? The lowlights you did, since you rinsed them out and then you toned the blonde pieces, does the toner clash with the lowlight color you just used? Like will the lowlight color and the blonde pieces toner will they somehow clash and make it look muddy or mixed in any way?

So if I wanted less dark just do 2:1 highlights to lowlight slices correct? Are you using a 2 different colors? Meaning one for roots and one for filling in the blonde ends on lowlights? And last question, are you using 10 volume bleach in the beginning? I know this takes some time so wouldn't want to use too high of developer with bleach correct? This is a great video, thank you. I love slicing instead of weaving.
@nvennhairbeauty3 жыл бұрын
The artistry is up to you. You could do 2:1 highlight and lowlight OR you can do the same thing and use a lighter lowlight color OR maybe you weave the lowlight instead of doing a slice. For Aly, veronica could use the same formula root to ends for the dark but for some people you might need 2 colors depending on what their hair looks like to start with. If you are slower at foiling, definitely start with a lower volume and increase it as you move through the sections. You might need to start with 20 depending on how much lift you will need over all. If Aly's natural hair was darker and she wanted to be blonde, a 10vol wouldnt lift it enough regardless of how long it was on the hair

@nvennhairbeauty4 жыл бұрын
yes you rinse then add toner. you can rinse out the sections separately and that should be enough to prevent the hair from bleeding (brown doesn't bleed like red or black would). If you ever need that extra level of protection, just rinse with ICE cold water 🥶. The colder the water, the less chance there will be of bleeding.

With the blonde pieces that are getting lowlights does your formula already have a filler color, because I know when you lighten it takes out the warmth needed to go back darker?

hello, i was wondering: if you tone the hair in-between the foils can you tone once more for the blonde highlights? that would include the already toned hair. thank you

Finally found what I was looking for!!! How did you tone it? Wet or dry? And when you toned the blonde do you apply on the whole hair ?
@nvennhairbeauty2 жыл бұрын
yes you can apply to the whole head because the blonde doesn't affect the dark. I would power dry it a little bit so it's not sopping wet. If it is saturated with water, it won't absorb the color as well.

You did both hair color and highlights at the same time! It was great how you made it easy, and and the result was great! But What will you do if one of them get ready first and the other one still needs more time (maybe additional 20-30 minutes longer) either hair color or highlights? If you please explain both of the situations🙏🏼 I was thinking if the highlights get ready first it’s easy we can wash in a bowl of water (until the hair color gets ready and the washing all together). However, we should cover it again with a foil or something to not to touch the hair because other than that it will get the color of the hair (specifically if the hair color is dark) is that correct? Thank you! 🙏🏼
@nvennhairbeauty3 жыл бұрын
If the color is done first it isn't a big deal, you could just leave it. If the highlights are done first you can pull out the foils and the hair will stop oxidizing. You should be ok though if you formulated it correctly. If you know the hair doesn't need to lift a lot, just use a lower peroxide and everything should finish at the same time😎

I have an appt booked with a hairstylist. I need more dark pieces added to break up the blonde. I am naturally a level 3 and have too much blonde. She wants to do the dark colouring first leaving out the blonde highlights to lighten after the colouring is there a reason a hair stylist would do it this way?
@nvennhairbeauty2 жыл бұрын
Im not sure why they would do it that way. It would take way longer because you would have to foil the whole head twice. Its way easier to do it all at once in my opinion

How long did this take over all??? Do you get worried about the bleach being on too long while doing the tint?
@nvennhairbeauty3 жыл бұрын
No she started with a low developer and increased it as she was moving through the head. JBevs processing time for deposit only is 20mins so it was fine. Great question! It probably took her an hour and 15mins to 1.5hours to get the color on

How did you tone the blonde..? Was it okay to do that even though you just colored? Like was it easy?
@nvennhairbeauty4 жыл бұрын
oh definitely! I tone 95% of my blondes after I lighten their hair. You have to in order to neutralize any warm underlying pigment that will show through as you lighten it

what was your formula for the lowlight? i struggle with how to lowlight over blonde highlights to match their natural
@nvennhairbeauty3 жыл бұрын
Oh ya great question! If they are super light blonde, a 8 usually looks pretty natural (but its just a darker blonde). If they want to see more of a "lowlight" then a 7 is nice. I'll only use a level 6 on darker blondes. Its just a general rule of thumb but most would think its too dark. All that being said, color lines are all a bit different. I'd recommend picking a color line and sticking with it. Thats the best way to formulate for your clients 👌

With a level 8 or lighter, do u add any warmth so its not washed out or dull looking

How this technique will work if the color is not used on roots? As most clients have white hair?
@nvennhairbeauty2 жыл бұрын
You can put it to the roots, it's just not touching the scalp

Can this be done after stripping a red out of your hair? Since my hair is naturally grey
@nvennhairbeauty2 жыл бұрын
Yes of course! Your formula might change a bit.

Did you slice her foils throughout the entire head? (If so why not ever weave?) -beautiful work and am going to try this on my client today! 🤍🤍
@nvennhairbeauty3 жыл бұрын
Oh let us know how it turned out. On this client, yes just slices. Sometimes we use weaves too. It just depends on the effect you want after. Slices will give bolder highlights or streaks of color. Here is an OLD foil techniques video we shot. We will be shooting a new one one of these days but it should still answer your question. kzbin.info/www/bejne/h4Kkg4mPmdagm8U

OH MY GOD YOURE AMAZING! So pretty! The foils omg!!!! I suck at foils! Can you do an all over color with highlights at home? I’m a licensed cosmetologist but I’m a stay at home mom currently so I can’t get a friend to do it. Please help!
@nvennhairbeauty2 жыл бұрын
Thank youuuuu 🥰. Anything can be done but we don't recommend it. It would take forever and would be tough to get the foils in the back tight
@marisaanthony4263 жыл бұрын
I’m a new stylist and it takes me longer to highlight the whole head. Which developers would you recommend for the blonding? Which developers did you start with and end with for the blonde? Thx!
@nvennhairbeauty3 жыл бұрын
Hiiiii 💕. That would depend on how quickly you can get through the head of foils and how light you want your client to be. If it still takes you a while to foil, maybe start with 7 vol or 10 vol in your foils. This will only work though if you don't need a lot of lift. If you need lots of lift, start with 20 vol

Giving people hair makeovers is MY FAVORITE thing to do! That being said, I would need to see you live and in person to give a good recommendation. Is your hair all natural now?
@emmavargas51713 жыл бұрын
@@nvennhairbeauty yes I've never had anything done to my hair except for occasional trims for the dead ends.
