Hi Simon, Perfect video ! No mentioning of Federer's cross behind step when recovering position after running forehand. You may add some scenes.

Recovery footwork is a perfect topic for me. I've always had good natural ability to chase down wide shots and keep the ball in play, but my feet keep running, and my goose is cooked on the next shot, unless my opponent is simply awed by my stunning retrieval!

Really enjoyed the Running Forehand video. The focus on the footwork and recovery from the shot was really helpful to see, especially backed up with the clips from the pro's in there for reference. Thanks for the tips, and keep up the great work guys.

very good content.. ty guys!! i'm having trouble with the footwork on these running fhs because i'm a righty who plays with the left hand so sometimes i feel like i'm using the dominant leg instead of the left leg.. i was trying to closed stance hitting these running fhs, thats why it was rly tough for me to do it.. and i realized many times i already do the "hop" correctly, with my left leg.. i'm really glad with the video, ty guys.. i have only 3y of tennis but im hard working and i've improved a lot, thanks God.. and thanks to contents like these.. ty very much Alex and Simon

Great content as usual. I have two questions for you topicwise: 1. How and when do you change your grip during a rally? Do you normally change it? 2. I see all the time players picking balls from 3 or 4 before serving. Why are they doing that? At some point during the matches they bring in new balls. Are they wearing that fast, after only a few shots/games? Thank you and all the best.

Couple questions. On a running forehand, is it adviseable to use the buggywhip forehand in certain circumstances? Also, I have decent directional and height control of the ball when I have time but when rushed, I can be more inconsistent..any video or tips to remedy that? Thanks for this video and any advice on my questions!
@TopTennisTrainingOfficial3 жыл бұрын
Yes the buggy whip can be very useful on the run since we often make contact on side of the body. When you’re rushed, shorten the backswing but increase the footwork intensity 👍 All the best Simon

Great instruction. Unrelated to the topic, but man -- that court surface looks brutal! To me, it almost looks like an asphalt parking lot. Also looks very hard and unforgiving. Is it just in need of re-surfacing or is that the normal court surface? Looks like a nice club so that's why I'm perplexed.
@TopTennisTrainingOfficial3 жыл бұрын
It’s a pretty common surface here in the UK, easy to maintain and cheaper than real hard courts

The running forehand. It might be my imagination but it seems to me that I have to cock the racquet more and hold it more loosely to hit a good one, which is difficult to do when sprinting a short distance cos I think that's when the upper body holds more tension.
