see, the way i hit a stinger is to top the ball by accident. never gets above 10 feet in the air and rolls out an extra 50 yards (though it doesn't carry past 100 haha)

Been learning this shot for a couple months. Play where there is always wind and its a must have type of shot. I have learned to hit short irons all the way thru my driver. My favorite is a low running draw with the driver into the wind. Its amazing how much further past everyone else you get by hitting that low running draw into the wind. Thanks guys!

lately most of my ball flight is two foot off the ground. however they only go around 120 yards because am making a divot several inches behind it. guess you can call them misfired stingers and they always look best in the daylight when the sun in behind you. are you able to do them on the track-man? i think it would make for an insane game.

Can you do a labs video of different price points on clubs? Especially for beginners like myself, club prices can deter me from playing/ getting better because of price. I’m using a hand-me-down set that’s probably 25+ years old. My driver is smaller than a newer 3 wood.

@scottsmith85462 жыл бұрын
FYI - if you are less than 5-10, you need to either choke up on the grip or use shorter clubs, because to hit the stinger well you have to be covering the ball and the taller you are, the easier it's going to be. If your shorter and still want to use the longer clubs, then get them bent down a couple of degrees, which moves the ball farther away from you but also flattens out the club face.

I can't hit a 3W off the ground to save my life. They're all stingers. Moving the ball BACK allows me to hit it HIGHER. That means I'm doing it wrong. I hit 3W off the tee almost as far as driver. Oh well.
@jacobmccain80822 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily. Normally to be a good fairway player you need a slightly downward AOA. Most people struggle because theyre swinging up at it. Moving it a little back may make your AOA a bit less shallow.

I feel like Labs is starting to run out of material. Might I suggest Taking Stephen and start a Labs that last a while called "Coaching Bubby" Everyone loves to see him. You can start from the beginning of building him up to Dropping his score way down. One episode can be about breaking his swing down and getting some mechanics in there that work better. Then you can go onto each part that you have videos on but you can add in some 3 hole stuff to show what he is learning and approving on. You can do videos of him playing 3 holes and get an inside to what he is thinking before each shot. After you do some videos on Bubby then you can move onto Stephen and then someone else or you can even find a 10+ handicap golfer and see if they would be willing to be on camera and see how you can improve their play through a series of coaching.
