BIG congrats to my student for working so hard and leaving her comfort zone! If you'd like to spend time with me on the court shoot me an email: ian@essentialtennis.com

My favorite part was 3:18, where after she ripped two forehands in a row inside the baseline, she turned and smiled back at Coach like, “Wow, did you see that!?” This is one of the most rewarding aspects of coaching (teaching, mentoring) where you see the confidence and mindset shift. You get so much buy in from players when they see their belief and efforts turn into success. Love it, Coach Ian

Absolutely. "Simple" rarely means "easy" in tennis!

This is yet another in your series of vids about how ALL OF US play so much worse in point play vs. practice. And I think it may be your best yet!

I could relate so much to this video, because I seem to be able to rip it and follow through in practice, and then I am not so consistent in tennis games!

Your innovative approach keeps me watching. And learning. I saw your channel early on and you still make watching worth my time. I listen to your book chapter "There is no ball” every now and then. Thank you. Cheers Jeff

This is precisely what the tennis doctor ordered! I just had a match where one of the doubles players was hitting such a big ball that it was too much to handle. I think it was due to speed, depth and spin perhaps. Looks like your videos are going to have the answers to how I, too, can hit a ball more like that in matches!! Thanks Ian❤

Ian, When you say tempo and keep it at 6/10, do you mean swing speed at 6/10? Thanks.

way too complicated. Reason why she misses it the outswing is completely loose and uncontroled. She is not going through the ball while swinging. That is why she has no precision. The 3 things you mention are non substancial general information.

@Geistlos0. 1 it looks simple to me: have the student crank up to a 10, then have her dial back to 6-7. Have her define her targets. 2 Did ya miss the thank you notes from the student near the end?
@RoddyAlt

I do not agree because Ian is mainly coaching the psychological phase of the game in this session, getting his student to play with less fear and more confidence in her strokes. He very much simplified this process through training step by step and the video evidence showed proof of improvement in her pace and accuracy.
