Great suggestion for the 40 yard pitch shot! This shot has really been plaguing me! Most of the time I pull the shot and/or hit it short. As your video suggested, it's probably because I play the shot with too much wrist hinge. I'll definitely try your shallow approach to the shot and rotate the body more!

US GOLF TV The head turn leading the chest to an upright finish was most helpful.

I’ve got a 52°, 54°, & 60°. Which do you suggest for these 40-60 yards shots?
@USGOLFTVshow4 жыл бұрын
Tyler2fye depends on the lie...on a tight fairway try using your 54 degree and open up the face slightly as this will help the club bounce through the turf...on a nice fluffy lie go with the 60 degree...great question 👊

Do you take the club inside

I must try this, I end up ooverbinging wrists and coming in too steep, obsessed with hit down to hit up, then I start digging in with bounce, worse with more lofted clubs, I guess it's like a big pudding basin with you in middle scraping the bowl, and being flat at impact, right at bottom centre of bowl

He said in another comment 54 from a tight fairway slightly opened and 60 if it's sitting up on some fluff. It's anecdotal, but I used to think 60 degree for pitches was the only one to go with because it was less club and more loft. I just shot my best ever round pitching with my 54 from the fairway.

Completely depends on conditions and lie. Sometimes steep with lots of hinge gets the spin rate up. Great when you're short-sided or facing a sloping away green

@@USGOLFTVshow true and while I suspect that you were limited on time for this video, the average viewer needs to understand it's not even close to a comprehensive chipping game. I'm simply highlighting that fact. While no mention was made that this is a quick chipping concept, it's by no mean complete. Lots of times I see folks at the range smashing driver and perhaps a 7 iron. If people spent 3 times longer chipping and putting 10' they'd drop 20 strokes per round! Driver comes out 12-14 times per round. Accurate scoring shots do so much more than this year's hot driver (that's inches longer than last year's hot driver). Maybe consider a series on chipping (unless the data tells you smashing drivers has more mass appeal)

Guarantee 75% of the reason people hit pitch shots fat is because they have all of their weight on their back foot. Your weight should be more towards the target.
