To stay open stance until i see how fast is the ball is the best tip. I was always going semi open stance

Great vid. I don't think I've seen anyone else discuss the concept of universal preparation.

thank you for your video made it more simple to understand. BY the way, the video was not properly focused at shorter distance and fine for wider longer distance. sometime it is abit eye distraction watching the out of focus video due to lens auto focusing not working properly.

it would be nice if you can be more specific, I don't fully agree with some of your explanation but liked you doing demonstration on the side as well

Always great stuff! I'd love to get some opinions on how to visualize/think about contact with the ball regarding swing path and racket contact. For example sometimes I hear people say cover the ball with the strings, swing like the windshield wiper at contact, or throw the racket, or visualize a clock on the ball and choose the numbers you want, etc. That sort of stuff. Any ideas?

As always, great video! I've been struggling to learn the modern forehand and this video really helped. I'm trying to figure out when you use your flat swing, are you brushing up on the ball or hitting the ball straight ahead? Thanks!

Great informative video as always! Video is a little blurry - can you get a better camera!

@IronWill - in competitive matches, do you ever play closed stance or do you mostly go for open stance but with a torso rotation on a setup?
@ironwilltennis9 ай бұрын
Totally situational based on time given to me. As your opponent gets better you'll find yourself needing to be open more often by necessity

Should your setup/racket takeback not depend on the height of the ball?
@ironwilltennis11 ай бұрын
No, your adjustments with your feet to best of your ability will compensate for the height of the ball. Always move your arm height last

Never copy anyone ! Not even a professional person like Djokovic or Federer. Never copy anything skill ! Learn the fundamental principles of body movement, potential energy and weight transfer . Then develop your own way of hitting and serving .

Still need coaches see guidance making corrections as you develop. You can do so but can’t do it along.
