I hadn’t played golf for over 4 years and never had lessons so was really not good anyway. I started playing again recently, had a couple of horrible games and nearly gave up. I’ve watched this video and your other videos over and over again for a week. I played yesterday and every shot was straight, high and plenty of distance. I played a 9 hole course with 2 par 5’s, 3 par 3’sand 4 par 4’s. I scored 5 pars , 2 bogeys and 2 double bogeys. I was really pleased with such a boost to my overall game just doing what you said. I even managed back spin with an 8 iron shot . I was blown away

Gents, I’ve watched all your videos on the hip turn and shoulder turn etc and after some work with the drills you suggested (including buying a couple of those alignment rods) I have had found some real consistency with driver, 3 & 5 woods and my mid irons. It just clicked when I eventually committed to it. The transition is much smoother, the rotation is controlled and I can actually repeat it knowing that it works. I’m no longer guessing at what went well and what didn’t. Far more yards, much straighter and I’m chuffed with the results so thanks for the videos they have been enormously helpful. I’ve been in the mid 90’s for a while but I’m now now pushing the mid 80’s with confidence. Cheers

Thank you, thank you, thank you for this. I was spraying all my drives to the right on monday and couldnt figure out why. Even went to the range tuesday and was still 50/50. That night i saw this video and realized i wasnt shallowing out on the down swing. Went to the range the next day and hit well. Played today and missed maybe 2 fairways with lots of bombs. Keep up the great content guys

Thank you gentlemen for your direction to correct my poor golf game into something a lot more fun to do. I went to the golf range and using your tips I sent the golf ball farther and straighter then I have in many years. I just finished my first 18 since switching my stance and my grip and I dropped 12 strokes off the card. My brother who was with me couldn't believe my results in such a short time, again THANK YOU !!

Hey Piers and Andy, another great video, thanks for all the hard work you do, Im a black country boy living in Oz and it was good to see you guys feature in this months Australian Golf Digest. At my level I would prefer more fairways and then maybe more distance as I improve. Anyway I wondered if you had considered covering the head position at address with the driver. On my last 2 holes at the weekend I picked up a slice off the tee so I went to the range today today to figure it out and it seems that if I point my nose at the ball at address my shoulders open, but if I tilt my head to the right slightly and point my nose sort of adjacent to my trail foot, my shoulders are square. I dont think many coaches cover this so I thought it might be useful. Might see you at Peartun sometime when the borders open. Cheers.

I would love an in depth set up video that talks on how far to stand from the golf ball. I feel as though I set up with the ball and the middle of the club face aligned, but then I strike it off the heel. It’s lead me to set up with the toe by the ball, but I feel as through I’m reinforcing a bad habit

I would take 5 more fairways. I recently weakened my grip, in an effort to fix my hook. My new problem is I started hitting them straight and long. Too long actually, and are running off the fairways out of bounds. So now I have to get my target line better, and stay consistent. Thanks for all the help!

Love your videos. Can you make one about waist high point of take away to top of swing? I seem to get out of line from there to the top and often hit the ball left. Have no idea why. Thank! Keep up the good work!

I’d rather hit more fairways. I used to be able to hit the ball a long ways, but I was always liable to spray it and put myself into trouble. Now, I’m older and don’t hit it as far and I’ve learned to value hitting the ball at my target as opposed to hitting it with distance. Ideally, I’d be able to hit it longer AND straighter!

5 fairways no question already hit it far enough but not always straight so definitely more fairways will be practicing those drills next time on range 👍🏌️♂️⛳

I often drive around 270-280 but I would not mind to drop even 20 yards for more fairways. Given that I don’t play from the black tee, anywhere from 240-260 is often more than enough but hitting more fairways and setting up for a better chance on the 2nd shot is crucial and make the game less stressful

Hello guys, first of all congrats on your very consistent videos and making it so understandable and interesting to watch (&fun!), but I have to disagree with your Lee Westwood comment. No doubt he's one of the most accurate and straight drivers, but when I look at him I don't get at all the impression he looks solid on his legs, this because of two reasons: 1) as you mention yourself, he doesn't flex a lot his knees, which actually gives the opposite impression, he doesn't work a lot with the ground, and personally, he doesn't give me the impression he's standing solid on his both legs this because of the poor flexing in his knees, 2) his lower back is flexed (meaning in kyfosis or in other words NOT hanging through his pelvis which you can only do when using your legs or when flexing your knees, which he doesn't like you said), I have the impression if you would push him from the back he would fall over easily. Maybe that makes it more understandable? So yeah, not impressed with his 'stance' actually, although the result is of course very impressive! This is my point of view as a physiotherapist/osteopath&golfer ;) Keep up the good work!

Thanks for all of your content guys. I have made great strides by subscribing to your channel! This may seem like a bizarre question, but i'll tee it up anyways.... What part of the golf ball do you look at throughout setup/impact? Do you look at the front curvature of the ball, the top of the ball, or the back curvature of the ball? Do you change what you look at depending on your shot shape or ball lie? Please let me know, do i need a psychiatrist because of this question?!? Anyways, thanks for everything you and your production team do, you're great!
@meandmygolf.4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Matthew. Great question. Me personally, I would say that I'm not really focusing on a spot. I want to one more general in my vision as I want the head to move freely as I rotate, especially through the ball. Sometimes being too focused limits your movement.
@johncreet12544 жыл бұрын
30 yards further for me. I can easily shallow the shaft with a combination of external rotation of the right shoulder ( I am right handed) and extension of the right wrist but the problem with this is that I think it opens the club face. This means there needs to be some compensatory move to square the club. Which piece of the shallowing move am I misunderstanding?

Hey Andy in Piers I got a fitting today and before I even hit a club he told me I needed 2° upright all I did was hit my clubs and the new B 21 big Bertha’s I have the 2019 versions that was a complete bag fit and I only hit my 7-iron no Putter all he did was tell me that maybe I need to change my shaft because I have a regular flex but I should use a stiff but I shouldn’t change it because I got use to it. Totally not worth it right

Would these drills work with long and mid-range irons? My longest irons (4 iron is lowest for me) have a severe slice, which I am now afraid of hitting. The slice becomes more faded as I get higher in number which I can control resulting in more confidence but I’d really like to hit a 4,5,6 iron with confidence again.
