OMG!!!!....I am over the moon!!!! This super duo just came to save my dead golf life when I had just decided to quit golf after 4 months of trying to get my swing back to no avail. I went to the range for the final day today morning and I actually accepted that my 10 years of golfing have come to an end. I had taken a 4 year break so coming back was a night mare. By chance in the afternoon, just passing time, I came across this you tube channel. I watched so many of their videos. Never have I seen golf explained so easily and practically. I went to my court yard and practiced most of what I had learnt. I got addicted and shocked by what I was seeing and went on non stop. I am still in shock at the ease with which I am rotating and Cathy has a follow through!!!(A thing of the past) and I even practised with irons ( I stopped using irons a long time ago..just the sand wedge).I have a tournament tomorrow. I believe something will change for sure. Thanks so much guys. Will update and I am subscribed for Life!!!! Cheers!!

About 4 years ago your channel helped straighten out my slice and gain about 30 yds. Now I'm 4 years older (58) and 45 pounds lighter ( now 160 Lbs.), My drives have started leaking to the right and the occasional "Duck Hook" and a loss of 30 plus yards. Could the loss of weight and gain in age have created my new issues? No worries, the loss of weight was intentional and hard fought.

Hi Jona, first of all huge congratulations because that is amazing👏🏻 In terms of your golf when you say leaking is the slice back or is it more of a push?

@@meandmygolf. Thank you for your kind reply. It's a slice. Not the banana slice I was dealing with 4 years ago. Currently I'm hitting my 3 wood farther than my driver off the tee. 210-220 yards, no slice or fade. Iv' been hitting a few buckets every other day trying to figure out what is going wrong. Maybe 5 out of 30 balls I'll hit straight and reach beyond the 250 yard mark. Last season my HC was 11, this season 13 and climbing. I live in Northern Michigan with a short 6 month season.

The takeaway is probably the most important part of the swing, because if you start that wrong the rest of the swing is compensating from there on out. I've improved my game vastly just by putting in so much time on a proper takeaway. love the channel guys! Keep it up.
@raynorlynn8103 жыл бұрын
That is completely wrong friend. You can't affect the flight of a bullet by whipping the gun around: the bullet flies straight from where it was fired. A golf ball will go where you hit it. The ball does not care what your backswing looks like. Was the face pointed at the target? Was the club path moving toward the target? Did you make 60% effective contact? The ball doesnt care if your left arm was straight. If you keep asking youtube to make you better then youll keep getting worse. Think about the physics. Nobody cares about your backswing. Hit. The. Ball.
@jeffreyyoungblood74383 жыл бұрын
@@raynorlynn810 no offense but you're an idiot. Just about everything I've learned from golf is from KZbin. Two years ago could barely break 90 on occasion. I shot a 73 last week. There's a reason why all the pros takeaways look remarkably similar. And why amateurs who can't break 100 don't look that way. Next time you're going to be so adamant in correcting someone, maybe know what the hell you're talking about. Yes the golf ball doesn't care, and yes you can do a lot wrong and still square the club, but you'll always be compensating which is not the most efficient way to play, both for your game and on your body. Now promptly go to hell. Good day.
@raynorlynn8103 жыл бұрын
@@jeffreyyoungblood7438 congrats on your 73, not many players will ever get there. I've been teaching golf for nearly 16 years mate, I have a fair grasp on the concepts. My primary complaint about this video is the one-size-fits-all approach. There is nothing that 100% of players should do... other than fix their ball marks. I have never seen you swing, but 73 is a good number so Ill assume you are a pretty decent athlete - thats why a video like this helps you, it is intuitive to you (to your body) because youre an athlete. My case is that this advice is for a very narrow set of players but it is being sold as though it can help everyone. It will make most people worse. Also, watch more closely: i can name a few with similar takebacks, but after the club clears the back foot (from face-on, only about 6 inches from address) the tour pros vary wildly in backswing. In fact, there arent very many "good" swings on the tour. Most of them are just really good athletes. Bubba's swing is a nightmare! If you have a swing thought that works for you then great, use it. Do not assume that it is good advice for everyone. And...the ball really doesnt care about your backswing.
@jeffreyyoungblood74383 жыл бұрын
@@raynorlynn810 I'm actually not a good athlete. I've played a lot of sports and none of them has come naturally. I do have good hand eye coordination but anything I've been good at it's more to do with determination and persistence. I'm definitely not a natural athlete. Most people would have given up way before me,.and that's what has made the difference. I was a semi professional pool player, and it definitely didn't come natural. I just practiced 10 hours a day for over 5 years. I did the same with skateboarding in my teens and I was never very good, because it's way more athletic. But golf, like pool I've been able to approach systematically, building solid fundamentals from the ground up. It's much more cerebral than other sports. They have that in common. That and it's just you against the game. I don't care if you've been teaching for 100 years, it's doesn't mean you're correct. Yes, many pros on tour are great athletes. But you're wrong about the backswing, MATE. 95 % of tour pros do most of the same things in the backswing - keep the hands inside the target line, hinge at the same time, keep the elbows close, bring the right hip almost straight back, do similar weight shift, don't rotate the wrists early, etc. There are exceptions of course, but almost all of them do these things. I do agree that the most important thing of all is that the club face returns square and there is a lot of ways to do that, but it's best when you don't have to compensate for what you did wrong in the backswing. This is basic physics. Anyway, I don't know why I'm arguing with someone who knows everything. Later. If you have an issue with the video, take it up with them, not me.
@raynorlynn8103 жыл бұрын
@@jeffreyyoungblood7438 lol and most pros have 2 legs, 2 feet, 2 hands, and clothes on, but you havent found those things to be important enough for study. Lets pretend that youre right about all of that (weight shift for example is absolutely not done in one (or mostly) one way, hell Adam Scott has changed his weight shift 5 times since he made the tour, elbows close is advice for people that rotate incorrectly, not for everyone...for the wrong player, say Dechambeau, tight elbows could be a catastrophe), the ball and the target still dont care. All the tour pros breathe, why arent you studying that? None of that shit matters Billy. If your determined non-athletic ass had spent all that time trying to hit the target rather than on page 26 of golf digest learning about hinge and lag then you might really be a good player. Theres not a spot on the card for your flawless takeaway - nobody cares how, only how many. Some of these swing tips may even reflect reality, but knowing how a knife and fork work wont help you find dinner. Do we listen to Hendrix because his technique was so pure? No! All we care about is what it sounds like. Hit the ball at the target. Hit. The. Ball.

This is exactly why you shouldnt take lessons from software. Why do you think his spin rate is high fellas? Do you think MAYBE the front side collapse is making him a bit steep? Do you think the cast recovery and reverse shift is related to why a big strong adult man only hits it 240 and can't hit a long iron to save his life? Why does his driver spin like a demon but he can't get it to stop with wedge? Can we please stop with the launch monitor amd just watch the guy swing? The monitor is for tiny adjustments for tour players, not weekend warriors.
