I'm in grade 8 and I live in Canada most of the kids in my class have played hockey for their whole lives. We were playing hockey in gym and people were saying I wasn't trying. I just didn't know how to hold a hockey stick and then most of the boys made fun of me. After school I cried and I just wanted to say thanks. You don't realize how helpful this really is. (:

I’d played from 5yrs old to 27yrs old. I went to Howie Meeker school in Stanstead for 11 summers. I stopped playing when the Easton aluminum with the wooden replacement blades were the top-of-the-line. Like Gretzky used with the King’s (to give you a reference point in time) I’m 51yrs old now, and after 25 years I bought a Bauer Vapor X, and a net. I never was taught to put the meaty part of my bottom hand on the top of the stick, and wrap my thumb around. I gripped it with my thumb on the top-as opposed to wrapping it around. I had always done it this way just by instinct. And I guess no one ever looked or noticed. I tried it your way, and omg, I wish I had been taught this 1/4 of a century ago! My slapshot is so much harder, of course as well as my wristers and snapshots. Thanks so much. I’m having a blast learning how to shoot all over again! Great video!

I taught my son about the elbow neutral position. He likes it and uses it regularly to judge hand distance. BTW, you've got my vote as Ron's new side kick on Coach's Corner when the inevitable happens to Grapes.

hey Jeremy, im in a little bit of an odd issue with my new stick. i got a new intermediate stick that i want to use for ball hockey. i like this stick because its the same stick as my roller Hockey stick which my original stick is way to big for me (i prefer a longer stick on skates because i get more reach + a better shot). Anyway when the stick came it was a little bit longer then i expected ( the perfect length i should be using on skates) and i cant navigate in the corners nor get a good snapshot. i have two ideas of what i should do (i just want to know which one u think is better) 1. cut down the new stick so it fits (just above the bottom of my nose), the major downside is it would make it an 85-90 flex stick and i would have a hard time ripping a slapshot (i weight 143). 2. cut down the original stick to about my mouth and get better puck feel and just use the new one for roller, but the stick would be about 110-120 flex and id have no chance of taking a slapshot and im not sure if id have any pop on a snapshot. what do u think i should do. just reply above the comment.

Thank you! Iʻm getting ready to take my PSA Master Ratings exam, and they ask how to hold a stick properly. Iʻve always been able to demonstrate, but as a figure skating coach, itʻs much harder for me to verbalize. Your explanation is much appreciated!!

Hi Jeremy. I'm trying to get some HockeyShot dry land flooring tiles. My dad thinks that the rubber transfer from the puck will take away from the slickness of the tiles though. How much, if any rubber transfer did you get on your dry land tiles? And how do they work now?

Neutral position is optimal for slashes. Hold the stick lower when hooking. When you get caught a step behind a dangler with wheels, place your stick blade in the elbow of the upper hand and pull back a little bit. This prevents them from controlling the puck or scribbling that essay. It's a penalty if the ref sees it. 🤣

yo can why cant you stick handle with your dominant hand when it is half way down your stick? Just cos i think it is so much easier that way and you don't sacrifice any power when it comes to shots...

but can you teach me how to control on cement and concrete. what if surface is not smooth and you can't afford a shooting pad
@UltimateBreloom8 жыл бұрын
If you find anything smooth and grease it a puck will slide fine. Furniture polish is a cheap solution, but my favorite is silicone grease. I have a plastic sheet that I got for free.
