I'm surprised you didn't mention something my grandfather showed me. Hold the fish exactly upside down on its back in the palm of your wet hand as you remove the hook and magically 99% of the time they stay absolutely still. It's never failed on me. With bass and perch just as you say smooth the fins back from front to back before you turn it on its back.

Thank you for this video, I live in Pennsylvania a fish n fresh water all the time but one time my cousin from Tampa he invented me to fish at one of Florida longest fishing pier and omg my 1st fish was 18.5 inch flounder I did not have a single clue or idea of how grab unhook or even release the fish back n the water lol 😆

oh snap, I haven't looked into shipping, but at cost a distressed shallow fit baseball hat ran me 24 bucks, the hoodie cost me... honestly I didn't pay attention to cost , I just needed it for the channel. I'm looking into UV protective light weight fishing hoodies... and more tech fishing apparel... I want to guess at cost the regular kelly green FFN hoodie without shipping would cost 30-40 bucks.

I think that you and maybe three other people on earth are the only people that fish for carp on purpose 😂 catfish I can respect I love catfishing. If you're looking for info on carp and catfish there's a KZbin channel call the catfish and carp he's pretty much the guru on both of those fish.

Walleye?
@FreshwaterFishingNovice9 ай бұрын
Complete transparency, I’ve never caught a walleye… but doing some quick research, I would say the best way to land a walleye would be with a net and then using fish grips to deal with that toothy mouth would be the safest for the fish and the fisherman

@@FreshwaterFishingNovice you just got one more subscriber. Not sure if you know a lot about the differences between largemouth and smallies but that's what I'm trying to learn a little bit more about if there's any different types of techniques that work better for one or the other. I mean I catch quite a bit of largemouth but I think I've only caught like one small mouth in my entire life. I think I'm fishing the wrong Waters.

@@FreshwaterFishingNovice mostly lakes, but i do occasionally fish a smaller river a few miles from my house where I catch allot of pikeminnow and a few decent brown trout. I think maybe the pike minnow are a big reason why there may not be a lot of bass at least in that area of the river.

Trout scare the hell out of me man they're angry ass fish and they do not like to be caught 😂 when I'm bass fishing and a trout hits my lure I literally get so nervous cuz there's been more than one time where I've gotten a trouble hook past the Barb into my fingers because they just do not calm down. Bass are pretty docile once you lip them and get them out of the water

@lonniebiz Жыл бұрын
@@FreshwaterFishingNovice Today it is in-sync. Weird, it was the only video I watched that was like that, but it must have been something on my end or a KZbin glitch. Thanks for covering this topic. I'm afraid to handle a fish that I would catch, because of the horror stories I've heard about them fining people. I had a pet fish named Skeeter. I named him that because, early on, a mosquito landed on the water and let's put it this way: "that mosquito is no longer with us". So, I've seen first hand how vicious a fish can be, and I don't want to suffer the same fate that mosquito did or die in a pool of blood (with missing fingers) on a water bank, while some fish is gurgle-laughing below!

@@lonniebiz dude, you're cracking' me up. sorry about the syncing issue, it also was one of my 1st videos... hopefully you can see the refinement I've been working on. 🤞

Very helpful! I used to panic and just yank the pole as hard as I could until the fish came off.
@getstraight2342 жыл бұрын
That's really fkd up dude. You probably killed allot of fish unnecessarily. If you are scared or panic when you touch a fish and you probably shouldn't be fishing that's like someone saying, "well I'm scared too process (gut) a deer so I just shoot it in the leg and severely injure it just so I can say I go hunting"
@griddlegary23122 жыл бұрын
@@getstraight234 I’m an avid outdoorsman and nature lover. I just hate touching those icky fish. I used this video to help and have also incorporated clamps so I don’t have to touch the fish.
@getstraight2342 жыл бұрын
@@griddlegary2312 that's great and all I just can't help but think about how many fish probably died or swim up with screwed up mouths or intestines. Sorry to tell you Avid Outdoorsman but there's no way that you're not going to have to touch a fish unless you use a robot to do it.
