no i haven't , but i might try it out. I think the problem is going to be raising the temperature slowly. In sculpture you want to slowly fire it. I have been meaning to build my own wood kiln or gas kiln.

Most of the time, when I produce a sculpture I bulk the main form out with newspaper, which instantly provides a nice cavity. The paper naturally burns away in the firing process, making sure to leave a few small vent holes, of course.
