I'm looking at doing this to my 2009 Aero in the spring, but I haven't seen anyone mention how it affects FI models.

I would think the EFI would compensate for that on it's own, but I don't really know. You might have to get it re-programmed.

I would imagine it might need a slightly bigger jet in the carburetor/carburetors (some have 1 some have 2).

don't ever do this it made my bike run like shit go get good aftermarket pipes and get it jetted it's worth it lol

Yes it will run rough after this mod, but a simple adjusting of the carb air mixture screws will allow more fuel to match the extra air let in. Mine runs a lot peppier after, with no backfire.

Mine are done this way. It ruins the pipes. The inner pipe on mine is broken internally because it has no support after being drilled out. Go buy the real deal pipes
