man! was hard to find this video, this is exactly what i was wondering, if i added an external amp for my front speakers AND using the preouts of my recievers the volumen control of my receiver will work! and only this video has the answer! thank you :) i know a pre amp is the better way, at least that is what the expert always tell, but 1300$ for a parasound preamp? man... no bueno... at least not rightnow but maybe in the future

If you have superpower-hungry speakers, you can remove the jumpers on the back and bi-amp by using the speaker terminals for the mids and tweeters and the crown amp for the woofers.

Hi, i have a Sony STR-DH590 in my living room and a vintage receiver in my she cave. My Sony keeps saying protect i think and then cuts off. I took a shelf out of my cabinet to keep it cooler because i feel alot of heat coming from the top of it. What do you recommend? I thought of maybe hooking a small fan to the wall behind it to blow cooler air onto it. It used to never do this. 😊

Something I've never quite understood about adding an amplifier - my stereo receiver is a 100-watt output unit, and if I put the volume up past 3 or 4 on the dial, it's so loud my walls shake and my ears bleed. Why on earth would anyone need 400 watts? You can't possibly listen to anything that loud.

Let's put it this way a factory car stereo output is 25 to 50 watts per channel definitely not loud enough. Still not loud enough for me

How do you power the amp? Car amps use around 12+ volts! Is that what you use?
@PetersPorsches Жыл бұрын
I have a 120w reciver that was perfect... until I bought some huge tower speakers that suck all my power for sub par volume all around, so amps are really a setup based use case. Also you will find that if you can drive your speakers to about 80% of peak RMS they get more tight and responsive.
