Thank you so much, your video is absolutely for me right now❤ I have a small art studio and mostly we paint and work with real clay, create pottery, but I love to try different materials and techniques to keep myself and everyone inspired and interested. So, I just bought pasta machine, roller, blades, created few canes and jewelry pieces and was wondering how to host session for adults and kids, what do I need to buy next, would one pasta machine be enough for 6 adults, and now you've answered this question - I just need one and rollers for everyone. I wonder how much polymer clay do I need per person? Maybe you could say what colors adults or kids use more than others? And in your experience what colors do I need the most? Let's say I have 500grams of cernit white or white opaline, 500grams of white translucent, 500 of black, 500 of each of tree basic colors and what colors should I buy next? I have plenty of acrylic colors, alcohol inks, pastel, glitters and I wonder if that would be enough to color the white clay.

Your studio sounds amazing! 🤩 Sounds like you have pretty much everything you need! It really depends on what you’ll be making, if it’s jewellery you don’t need much, probably the equivalent of a small block per person (around 50 grams), where as if you’re making something like trinket dishes I’d allocate 1-2 small blocks. We find in our sessions it is a real mix of the colours people go for. The most popular colour palettes would probably be brights, pastels and neutrals 😊 Keep in mind if you’re mixing colours in your workshop that you’ll have to build time in for this ☺️ creating your own colours can be such an enjoyable part of creating though! Reach out if you have any more questions 😊 Good luck!

I'm nowhere near there yet lol, but thank you! Once I know more myself, I think doing a friends DIY one would be awesome :) Just need to get a lot more cutters lol, oh, and clay!

Hi thanks so much for your video! I am really thinking about hosting a workshop in the future. I was wondering how you deal with drilling and sanding in your classes? Do you give each person the tools to do these steps themselves? Or do you do it for them and give them back their pieces to assemble? Also, do you provide depth guides so participants can have even pieces?

We get them to do it themselves. I guess it would depend on what type of class you are teaching though - if it’s to teach them how to make their own earrings then you would get them to do it, but if it’s just for them to create their own in your session then you wouldn’t need to. It’s definitely the part they find trickiest! We just use sandpaper and hand drills in our session, get them to do a quick tidy around the edges with the sandpaper, drill their holes, then assemble with pliers ☺️

Oh and we do put a few pairs of depth guides on the table normally! We find some people like the pasta machine, where as others prefer depth guides. I think it’s not a necessity, but a nice to have 😊

Great video Tegan and wonderful advice for those looking to host PC parties and workshops. I have to say though I was a bit distracted by those gorgeous black and white earrings with the black splashes. Was that achieved with black liquid Sculpey by chance? Such a cool effect. I’ve achieved a similar look with spider gel (nail art product) and it looked really cool but I do like the paint splash effect on yours. ❤😊

Thank you! ❤️ It is actually black acrylic paint and a constellation silk screen! I am totally planning to do more white clay/black paint combos because I have received so many compliments on them! I reckon just a paint splash would look cool too though!
