Super general question. So, sensors & solenoids running on Pico w. The pico can run the program it need 90% of the time, but will need periodic updates. Decisions made from sensor data will be complex and will surely need the pi 4, (bme688). What am I describing here? I just don't know the vernacular yet. client / server?

Yes I've gotten requests to do this before. The process involves opening ports on your router, so I just need to think of a way to make the video as generic as possible. Stay tuned. It will come one day :)

How can you setup your pi by finding it on your phones’s wifi list and connecting to it for internet setup (entering SSID and PW)?

your router's IP Address should be on the bottom of it. Take a photo of it to keep on file. Put the IP address in a web browser and any device using your router should show up. You may need to turn them on one by one to see which matches which. Your Pi will have 2 IP addresses: one for Ethernet and one for WiFi. Keep that IP address as a bookmark if you can....since you may need it later.

My idea was to create a captive portal so that they can connect to the pi, open a web page, put their wifi details there so that their pi can connect to the internet. Yeah. Advice. I’ve built a Django app. Works fine with debug on. But whatever instructional I follow to get Apache up and going hosting the same app doesn’t work because of some unforeseen roadblock. Like , “you can’t install that because it’s a managed environment”. “You don’t have permission to do that thing you’re trying to do”. “I can’t find that wsgi app/module to asked me to run”. So far I can only work with debug = True 😭
