@@abdulrahmanhs8162 Honestly immerse yourself into your course material. It is easy to do your homework based on quizlets and skip textbook readings, but there is a reason college is expensive and a degree is worthy. Get the most out of your classes! That was my biggest mistake. I also didn't join clubs until my junior year, so if I could go back, I would get into them earlier. You get to work and network with people who are more experienced than you and that will help you so much. Also, if you are a cyber security major, I would recommend joining a computer science club because computer science majors take much more technical classes and you could make yourself more well rounded that way. Hope that helps :)

ToR has been effectively de-anonymized at lease by the US Government. They run most of the endpoints out there, and can do packet timing analysis between every ISP in America and the ToR endpoints to determine what route was taken. Just FYI. As originally designed, it was and still is extremely secure, but they've essentially got a side-channel attack using traffic timing analysis to circumvent the ToR network entirely.

Under Tor's architecture, administrators at the entry point can identify the user's IP address, but can't read the content of the user's correspondence or know its final destination. Each node in the network thereafter only knows the node from which it received the traffic, and it peels off a layer of encryption to reveal the next node to which it must forward the connection. (Tor stands for "The Onion Router.") But Tor has a known weakness: The last node through which traffic passes in the network has to decrypt the communication before delivering it to its final destination. Someone operating that node can see the communication passing through this server.
@arnab.kushaan3 жыл бұрын
@Aaron Deugray They don't leave the network. Basically they peel off the security layer from the previous node and put on a new layer.

@Big man Lol No. That is not how they did it, there are generators that can generate a vanity public key. Just like there are generators that can generate a vanity public bitcoin address. Takes more computing power the more complex it is, there are programs that harness GPU power to complete these operations... so likely to get facebookcorewwwi took lots of GPU/computing power to essentially "crack" the generation of that public key. quick question, I've explored tor off and on, and after watching this video, a thought crossed my mind. What determines your onion url to be kept, and not changed? I'd presume normal users who look up their onion, but never host, may expect their onion to change each time they reconnect. As for hosting, let's say I lose power, or my internet resets, or if I move, what determines to say my onion stays or changes?
@ruthlessdraculigula10512 жыл бұрын
Your unique onion address is created when you start the Tor client. It's the address that runs on your particular computer and stays the same regardless of the network you're using. To get a new address you'd have to delete the output file the Tor client (torrc file) creates, and then run the Tor client again, at which point you'll be given a new onion address.
