I watched this video a while back, but continued to roll dip barrels as I just didn't have the 'stones' to try this as barrels are a bitch to clean up and re-dip if you screw them up. Well, today I tried it 'your' way. It worked great! The dip even seamed together in the under forearm section! It was amazing to see it work so well. Thanks for posting this video and all the others!

I wouldn't attempt it without a blaster. The coatings on uppers are really hard and I have never successfully removed them without a blaster.

you use some special varnish, taking into account that the barrel of the gun will heat up with use. best regards

We use a urethane flat clear coat.

How do you recommend filling the barrels breach holes. So the paint doesn't go into the pin holes around the barrel and into the barrel? Wanting to dip my paintball gun barrel that has a good bit of holes around the barrel

do you have any videos on how to prep barrels? I've read other info, and some say to apply paint stripper let it sit scrape it off and continue with the process. I guess what I'm really looking for as far as info goes, is if i sand blast the barrel and receiver do i need to heat treat them still. if heat treat is required, do I heat treat first then sandblast or sandblast then heat treat then apply base coat. thanks again man you helped me on some stuff in your jon boat channel.

I just clean the barrel with degreaser, blast it, degrease again, blow it off with air, then paint like normal. Don't over think it.

Im thinking about doing a zombie gun so I wanted my upper receiver and free float rail both painted green and dipped but then I wanted my barrel just green so it would stand out more

You would need to cerakote the barrel. The heat will ruin the hydro dip after about 400 degrees on a barrel

When I dip it will look great just maybe a tiny hole here & there. Put it in wash tank & the wash will start knocking the film off the object. WHAT IS MY PROBLEM ?
