I wish that I would have watched your video first. I came here to see how to get my (home made) royal icing smooth (it looks really messy). I have save your video and will go to it next Christmas, where I will buy the premixed marzipan and icing as you have.. Thank you for taking the trouble to make this and load it on KZbin. I would never have thought to do that, build it up with marzipan! I’d have trimmed the cake to be level until it resembled a biscuit! Thank you 😊

a good tip is to use the tin you baked the cake in to get the right size to roll to rather than touching a sticky cake
