HOW TO: ICED MATCHA GREEN TEA LATTE

Leaving this for anyone that might want the legit recipe~~ What we do at Starbucks for a venti iced matcha (24oz), alter for taste preference: - Pump 4 pumps of classic syrup (0.5oz per pump) (optional, but add it in if you have unsweetened matcha) - Fill the cup to the 3rd line with milk (12-15oz roughly?) - Add in 4 scoops (2 tbsp per scoop) of matcha - Fill the rest with ice - Shake then poor ~ NOTE: High quality matcha might be harder to mix, so I recommend mixing it with a tiny bit of boiling water first!

I made this but used honey as a sweetener and I used a frother for the matcha/honey/and a little bit of milk. Then added it to my glass along with more milk. Turned out just like the drink. Thanks!

@@judykassem6341 you could do that! Also you can make a simple syrup by using 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water. Bring to a boil until all sugar is dissolved. You can add in a teaspoon of vanilla extract and then that makes a "vanilla syrup" that you can add to your matcha latte. 💜 Hope this helps! 💜

They wouldn't taste like the Starbucks one because most youtube vids try to do it the traditional way. Starbucks just said f-that and just adds it as flavor. I like the Starbucks one, but it's not as good for me. Unless you add tapioca pearls and turn it into boba. It takes like an hour to cook the pearls though, so it's not exactly a fast recipe.

Thank you for showing how simple this is to make. I’ve recently caught the matcha latte bug from Starbucks and decided to make my own at home. Its so much better when I make it too. I make mine using organic vanilla unsweetened almond milk, a little vanilla coconut creamer, agave syrup, alot of ice and a teaspoon of organic matcha green tea powder. OMG delicious!

Simple syrup is just sugar and water so if you want to save even more money you can make the syrup at home. You could mix artificial sweetener in too if you like to save a few calories. I usually make coffee in the morning but it takes awhile and occasionally i just knock it over or something so it's rad to have something so fast to make, so i won't have a headache or be mad that i don't have coffee

You can also put 2 teaspoons of the powder with boiling water and whisk it together to make like a “shot” of it. I think it tastes better and you get the earthiness and rich taste from the matcha and then the milk makes it creamy

There’s various ways to make matcha now. The bamboo whisk is the traditional way to make matcha tea. In Japan some places make iced lattes by whisking it. Then adding syrup or sweetener, whisk again, and pour onto the iced milk. Both ways are really good.

The way I make mine is just heat up some water, doesn’t have to be boiling just hot, blend a small amount with matcha and then add my sweetener or sugar and milk (I prefer oat milk) and blend and then pour it in a cup with ice and take it to work. It’s like a 5 min process for me.

I use a blender, dont use water... just use milk and matcha . If u dont want to use sweetner davids tea has vanilla matcha and if u use their strawberry matcha it litterally tastes like strawberry milk. If u get any regular matcha be prepared for bitterness. For hot lates i blend the matcha with the milk first then i microwave it for 2 minutes than add my granulated sugar

You really only want to use ceremonial matcha if your going to make it the traditional way with a chasen (matcha whisk). A lot of effort goes into making it so it should really be enjoyed straight. For lattes use a lower grade matcha and save some money.

Yes 100%. Ceremonial matcha is high grade which is why it’s more expensive and is meant to be drank straight (just hot water like normal tea). Definitely recommend culinary matcha instead because it’s cheaper and is meant to be used in things that are not just water (lattes, cookies, cakes, etc.)

If you think star bucks is expensive check out what the price is per bowl of matcha tea in Japan. Samurai warriors use to drink this before battle. $100 a bowl in Japan. You can buy cheaper matcha but the real matcha comes from Japan.
