Dielectric grease is not necessarily recommended by BMW, but many people put a VERY thin coat on the inside of the first two inches of each coil boot. Must be a THIN coat. No never seize should be used with NKG Platinum plugs. Their threads are plated specially.

Just replace all of them for about $145.00 for six on Ebay. Buy the Eldor (NOT Bosch or Delphi) make and model coils that fits the E46 M3. BMW Part number 12138657273 Eldor Part number cross reference R3516S00100 Eldor coils come in plain white boxes. All of them do. Dont be alarmed. Plugs NGK Platinum ONLY 6X NGK Laser Platinum DCPR8EKP $62.00 Several other options. But, only one BEST option.... as listed above.

You might need these $1000 coils if you are boosted to over 600 RWHP. Otherwise, a set of Six ELDOR coils for $145 will be PLENTY good up to 600 RWHP. Most of BMW now uses ELDOR coils. Bmw spent millions of dollars perfecting their ignition coils engineered specifically for your engine , you must be a real dummy thinking these aftermarket “brand” will be better than oem 🥴

The argument can be said about aftermarket exhausts, intakes, and wheels. It all comes down to personal preference. There’s no need to degrade other people’s build just because it doesn’t appeal to your personal taste.

BMW is constantly changing. The ELDOR brand coil out of Italy is now OEM and preferred as a replacement for the OEM Bosch coils on the E46 M3. For a while DELPHI was OEM at BMW. Now, ELDOR brand seems to give the best results and are OEM for many models. BMW Part OEM number 12138657273 Eldor brand replacement Part number is R3516S00100 But, YES, many of the so called off brand "upgrades like Bavauto and Dinan are UNPROVEN. Stay away! BTW, these are fuking $1000 for six coils. I pay $147 for Six Eldor brand coils. Assuming these IP coils are something special, they will ONLY be needed for high boost turbo applications. Stay with what is the latest and greatest at BMW. For our cars, that is the ELDOR brand coil.

@@T30o I will "degrade" your choice to tout $1000 coils to NA non turbo E46 M3 motors. I will denigrate (proper word, BTW) it all day, every day. I have $35K mods in my M3. None are foolish like this one.
