This is not the best place for me to post this, but I've asked elsewhere and have not gotten a solid answer yet. Is there a way for me to hold my own historical player fantasy draft? As an example, I want Dale Murphy playing my CF ('83), Munson catching ('71), Koufax ('63) and Ryan ('74) starting, etc. etc. Is there a way to create a league like this? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Yup! pretty sure you can start a historical team save and then hold a fantasy draft. You can even turn commissioner mode on and select every pick for every team if you really wanted to. There's also "Random Debut" mode where the game plays normally - except every draft class is filled with random historical players, with their rookie ratings (potential rating is based on their peak career year). Lots of fun !

so how do you import a historical player into an inaugural draft?

Thanks for this great video! I'm having one issue. Many of the older players I import show them as in their 70s and 80s and their ratings are pitiful. Some are imported with their age during the imported season (as intended). I'm using the file import method. For example, importing Frank Howard from 1969 (howarfr01,1969,WAS) makes him 82 years old! How do I fix this?

yes very confusing......seems odd that is not discussed!!

You should already be in commissioner mode to be able to copy the player ID - on that same screen as the player ID code, you can change their date of birth as a work around if the age doesn't show up properly (assuming bug's not already squashed by now)

Hi. When I try to play a rebuild with the Orioles from 2019, all the prospects from 2018 are awful for some reason. Is there any way they can be good prospects using this ID? And where do I get the baseball reference ID from?

It's not clear if you can actually *play* with any team you import a historical player onto, unless I'm missing something?

You can play with anyone or any team that you import into the game. Any player you bring into your game should end up on the free agency list which you can then either edit the player onto a team of your choice or the league can have a free for all to sign said imported player. But you can play with the player in your save. If you import a player using a text file for numerous entries and have teams assigned to those imported players they will show up either on the minors for that team or potentially in the DFA/Reserve roster. Let me know if you have further questions about that.

What happens at the end of the year? In prior versions, players like this would automatically retire. Does the game treat 1948 Musial as if '48 is 2020 for recalcs and such? Thanks!!

The game will use the imported age of the players based on what their age was in their time for the year you selected. So you can see for example that the Musial of 1948 that TJ imported was aged 27. So the game would consider Stan to be 27 and just getting into his prime. It shouldn't retire the player until he gets much closer to 40.

Hey is there anyway to import a fictional player in the same way? I've got a player in one of my saves who the game automatically generated who was basically perfect in every way except for power hitting. But injury after injury limited him in his career and eventually his fielding fell from elite to mediocre, speed was gone, and all that was left was his ability to hit and be disciplined. But by that point he'd be lucky to play 120 games in a season. I'd love to give him a redo and see what would happen he didn't get injured again and again.
