I understand that the Bench Coach and the 1st and 3rd base coaches affect the player’s defensive development in the majors. Do Managers or Hitting Coaches affect a player’s defensive development in the minors?

My first assumption would actually be that your staff roles trickle down to the minors. But I'll check on that.

Useful vid, thanks. I have a question. When you buy OOTP 23 on steam are patches automatically updated for you or do you have to update them yourself? (I'm not super good with these things, which is why I'm wondering).

Steam has an automatic update system through the steam program. You can update the game by just allowing the update to install using steam. No need to download and install it yourself.

Regarding position ratings: Mike Yastrzemski has a 30/70 rating at left field. What does this mean please? Red and blue, 31 year old player. Does this mean he's a dice roll at left field?

his current ability is 30 which is poor. 70 is his potential but to be honest, not a good chance mike will ever be a very good left fielder. in real life, outfielders begin a slow decline after 30.

Hi, I want to make a league of old time teams. but not a franchise. Just set lineups and pitching staff and then either sim or play games until after the world series ended, then reset the season and start over Can this be done??

That is possible to make in OOTP. You could setup a custom league with teams from seasons of MLB. Now you can setup the league to skip the "regular season" so it's just playoffs or you can have the teams play against each other in a regular season. You can setup the custom game to make you only be in control of certain parts with the AI controlling the rest. You can also turn off lots of the features like trading and even roster moves from the Ai so the teams don't change. Also we have a way to turn off player development so they won't change ratings...meaning you can have an endless save where nothing changes year after year. This is one of the videos we intend to make a tutorial about which will be all about how to use the league settings to make custom leagues.
