If anyone is wondering, "scrubbing it" is a way to jump over an obstacle that keeps you low and prevents the springs on the bike's suspension from rebounding. It helps you transition into a "whip" which is the rotation that the rider makes here, it would be more noticable if the dropoff after the little bump was larger. Basically it's become a staple technique for riders to keep more momentum over obstacles that would cause much more of a slowdown if taken traditionally, keeps you lower to the ground and looks really cool. It can be pretty dangerous if you're not experienced tho so be careful

Close. A scrub rarely if ever transitions into a whip because you’re so low to the ground you can’t get a proper rotation without crashing. A whip is generally going to be a more aired out stunt that doesn’t provide any real benefit outside of style. You are right that a scrub keeps your bike lower but it does not transition into a whip outside of some oddball step downs that are extremely uncommon. They’re just thrown sideways because it helps to keep weight lower

For anybody wondering what scrubbing is it’s where you take an item, (like a sponge) and move your hand over a surface you want to clean. I recommend using soap or some other cleaning agent.

A scrub is essentially compressing the suspension of the bike and keeping your weight lower. Traditionally it’s been done by kicking the rear end sideways to varying degrees depending on skill level. It caused joy because that’s such a low jump that a scrub would be difficult to pull off cleanly to that degree
