How to improve FPS drastically in Ark Survival Ascended (hidden commands for improvement)

I can run ARK with medium graphics at stable 60+ FPS. I cant run ASA with the lowest graphics possible, all commands and at 640x480 at min resolution scale over 3FPS when looking forward. Looking downwards I get 490+ FPS.... good job wildcard, forced Lumen was a great idea lmao

Great, playing with a rtx3050 and i7 6800k, so a bit above minimum requirements and I'm getting like constant 50-70 FPS on Medium/High which is very nice.

honestly it just takes some testing different commands/settings and boom, massive fps increase! I think a lot of people (myself included lol) were very quick to complain without testing anything

From what iv seen frame gen can add this number of frames. 13 to 44 frames for 1080p epic, dlss, and frame gen, compared to 1080p epic, dlss. 8 to 35 frames for 1440p epic, dlss, and frame gen, compared to 1440p epic, dlss. 11 to 23 frames for 2160p epic, dlss, and frame gen, compared to 2160p epic, dlss. Please note the lowest number is for the rtx 4060 expect for 4k where the lowest is the rtx 4070, and the highest is for rtx 4090,

not every setting/command will help for everyone, but honestly why not try it and see if you get some extra fps edit: ive just done the cloud one and it doesnt change fps at all so i think their constant small updates is actually helping optimization

Looking to upgrade my pc for better settings and fps. Currently have RTX 3090 and 16 gb of ram. Would upgrading my ram or graphics card make the biggest difference or both? Thanks!

Honestly it can depend on a lot of things, I would recommend opening task manager and see how much ram it’s using when playing, I have 64gb and it only used 4gb so no issues for me but if you have other things using a lot of ram a ram upgrade could be good. Tbh 3090 is pretty solid, if you’re going to spend the money regardless it depends what your budget is but you could upgrade to 24gb ram and upgrade your gpu, sell off your old parts on Facebook or smth to help recover some money. Otherwise if ram isn’t an issue just go ham on the gpu for a massive improvement!

@@VidarArk Thanks man just tried that stuff out. Ram still had about 4-5 gb remaining but the GPU was running at 100% utilization on medium/high graphics settings. Might try and upgrade the graphics card it sounds like then

Realistically if you don’t do any rendering of sorts you probably won’t need more than 16gb ram for years to come, so 4-5 left over will last you a while

I run old Ark with 144fps on Max settings, but cant even play ASA with 40fps stable on lowest setting and your configurations xD great game i cba!

imo disabling Lumen things is way better to fps, in exchange just a small quality drop. Lumen reflections just took terrible. On my 2080ti i got about 30-60fps on even 4k and theres clouds on!

In settings you can use whichever preset was your original and it changed all the settings back to its original, for me the original preset was low so then I’d just click low preset

It did that for me too and half way through recording I was so confused why but once I changed the present from low to custom it allowed me to change the resolution

For some reason I'm only getting around 17 fps at 1920 x 1080 medium settings. Game is installed on it's own 2 TB WD Black M2 850X. CPU is heavy Air-Cooled AMD Ryzen 9 - 5900X. Graphics is an ASUS RTX 3070 Ti. Memory is plenty at 128 GB DDR4-3600. Power Supply is a Corsair 1200M. Under the RTX settings, they are all greyed out for some reason. Build version of the game is 449813.

You may need to enable gpu accelerated scheduling in windows settings, I needed it to as well for it to be enable

Try running at higher resolution. My game runs like shit at 1080p compared to 1440p with a 3080

Rtx 40 series lol Also frame generation has been causing a lot of crashing for people. They found when you turn off hardware accelerated gpu scheduling in windows it cut down the crashing tremendously. That setting is required for frame generation. It was running perfectly for me before the latest couple patches then I started crashing every coule hours. So I turned it off and it helped a lot. Also clouds look really grainy to me so I gladly turn them off for the fps boost.

my game freezes when i run dx12. running dx11 doesnt crash, but no matter what settings i get 15-20 fps. got an i5 6600k, 16GB RAM, 5700XT

Maybe you get low fps bc it’s made to run dx12, even though you can’t currently. Hopefully they patch that soon, can’t lie they’ve been cleaning up a lot of small bits here and there so they might get to it soon. I say all this because your specs definitely should be able to get quite a lot more than that

Shit makes no sense. Somedays runs on epic with 60 fps. other days i cant get it to open.
