A quick tip on how to increase radio signal receptivity strength,
I have stumbled upon this problem, of having low signal strength in my antenna radio. and noticed, that mostly people show how to overcome this problem by attaching a wire to the radio, and then putting it outside,, which seems like quite a hassle to me,
I found this way much simpler and quicker.. though it is not perfect, it still enhances the signal strength quite a lot. and overall I prefer this method as it is so much simpler and quicker..
Thanks for watching,
I hope you liked the video.
and I hope this method helped you.

LOL!!! This is old school technology. We used this exact same trick for 50"s & 60's B&W TV reception. A lot depends on the antenna location, but I have seen this technique work. Thanks for the share. Brought back many fond memories.

It worked for my radio based watches. I had to hold them outside of the window for about 10-15 minutes, but after watching this video, I made a twofold 2 foot long aluminum foil strip, tapered one end, put one watch around the tapered end, put some weight so they don't fall off and placed about 3/4 of the strip hanging outside of the window. The experiment worked! Although, the signal strength improved whenever the strip would hoist with the wind. So, maybe I will have to improvise with a wire making it bend upward to catch as much signal as possible. Having the watches synced up was a big pain, as I have four of them, and I couldn't find signal amplifier anywhere after months of searching. Thanks!

Wow That's so cool!! First time I hear of radio watches, very interesting. I'm Glad the experiment worked, and yes, perhaps try using a metal wire that wouldn't bend. Good luck, and thanks for sharing ;)

The telescopic antennas on portable FM radios are usually too short. Adding a conductor to the end to increase the length will usually improve reception. As long as it's metal and connected to the antenna end it'll work. Any total length greater than about 2'6" will not bring any further benefits.

Okay, but it's far from pro help. I mean, if you're going to go through the trouble of DOING (work) then you might as well do the best. So...this means....a FRACTAL antenna with RF PREamp(lifier)/Tuner well grounded at all key points and MAGNETICS is Key to antenna system so Extract Especially the Magnetic moreso than the electrical component of the RF input signal. And if you know electronics and /or radio...impedance &capacitance matching the antenna system to the radio circuit/s.

@@kieran-299 Well, I think most people are like me, and don't know electronics well.. and it only takes 5 minutes, in comparison to what you are saying.. And although you have logic in your words. To me, what you said now sounds like most advice I found online and it just confused me and sounded really complex .. when this method is super simple, easy, and it works pretty good (I am doing just fine with it for years, the reception is very clear). So maybe its a matter of personal preference, and depends on how bad the signal is in the first place.. maybe if the signal is totally horrible this won't work well...however it only takes five minutes to try it ;)

Not a great video, but the basic idea is correct. Add metal to extend &/or widen (sort of like a satellite dish) & it can improve the signal. I was hoping for something new here. I've done variations of this on radios & tvs. Some need a lot of fiddling around to find the right spot. I had it work for a time, then needed adjusting to find the signal again. Personally, I'd never be bothered doing that tiny little piece. "Quick & dirty" solution: Poke 2 holes in a CLEAN (Let's not be savages) disposable pie plate & slide it on the antenna. Maybe bend the top over the tip. Easily turns to find the sweet spot. (Easy pie plate, etc. cleaning: Have a brush at your sink. Soak, then brush off stuck on stuff before washing. Saves Lots of time & effort & saves you from having super gross wash water.)
