Is the defensive course live only or does it consist of videos that you can follow without having to be live?

That's the Muay Thai Golden Kick in the golden generation. I am from Bangkok, Thailand. You can see that Superlek and Tawanchai kick and retract fast. My favourite fighters of all time are Muay Femur (technician) Samart and Karuhat retracted fast and kicked with little telegraph. Power is generated by pushing off the ground using the hip. Hope you have a great day Gabriel!
@ehellsword210 ай бұрын
1) Use the ground as momentum for the kick. Push off the ground and thrust your hip forward to give a boost in speed. I don't know if you push off your front or back foot though... 2) Use angles. Not straight or rounded. From what it looks like he does it diagonally at 45 degrees. Square your hips up when you rechamber to setup for more kicks. 3) For the front foot. Pivot EARLIER than when your back foot drops back to the ground.

I have a TKD background and we were taught to make the path as straight as possible. Still chambering and all that snappy stuff, but definitely not taking the wide angle. I do MMA now and this helped me get kicks out faster than other beginners at the time, I just had to learn to kick with the shin and follow through.
@scottwheldon999210 ай бұрын
Very good tips. To add to number one, this is why we teach bouncing in TKD. We spring off the bounce before sending the kick.

Love your content, it's been helping me a lot as a beginner. When you were comparing the two kicks and explaining the difference in frames it would have been nice to have them side-by-side. Or to actually do a frame by frame breakdown of the technique. Regardless excellent classic style teaching

Hey gabe, I would love to hear your thoughts about how you change your training when you get injured or if your body gets too stressed, do you just lean back on training or do you switch your focus to something else? Thanks for the awesome content as always
@GabrielVargaOfficial10 ай бұрын
I do both depending on the situation. If I just need rest I take it. But often I find changing up the workout to something like swimming or a bike ride is enough of a rest.

On the planted leg, try reverse pivoting just before the kick lands and share if you notice a difference.
@xxgunslingerxx10 ай бұрын
that probably would make your round kick land a significantly reduced force. If your goal is damage you wouldn't want to start rotating in the opposite direction before the kick lands. I also am imagining my knee blowing out fighting this sudden reverse torque

I started in a new muay thai gym last week, cant say much about it yet but after 2 times in the gym we have yet to do defence, but the trainer does keep reminding us about defence when sparring and shadow boxing, I have the same thought as you Gabriel 50% offence 50% defence, most of my training at home is defence and I have a friend who is a boxer (quite new tho) that I train with about every other week and we do a lot of defence training, does not help me blocking kicks much but at least I can protect My head :)

Hey Gabe, I just received the defense course link. Quick question: Do I need a partner to use most of the exercises on the program, or can I solo it?
@GabrielVargaOfficial10 ай бұрын
You can solo it. And then add drills and what you learnt to training with partners. Really it works for both scenarios. Partner or no partner.

Hey gabe, my channel name changed but long time viewer, just wanted to let you know I am 100 percent sure that Dalle-3 was trained on images of your round house kick, I know this because I use your images to untrain it, it doesn't do well if I use other people, seems to understand your form better then others. The images are super clean with perfect form because well its you.... so maybe thats it.... but it really looks like your techniques. I will continue to train AI on martial arts because I plan on making the most in depth MMA videos ever made on specific fighters and advanced combat sports scenarios. Love you brotha.

I injured my foot in my last fight (kicked my opponents elbow) and my confidence with throwing a rear leg kick has been affected greatly...,i hesitate as i go to throw it witch telegraphs it for my opponent. I know that with time itll come back and ill get the confidence again but is there anything extra i could be doing to stop shying away from using my rear leg

Question, I thought kicks that come more angular are muay thai kicks, and those that are more linear, that come up in a straight line are more karate, taekwondo? That's how I always understood them. Cause when I watch muay thai the kicks are always coming from the side, theres always a curve or a loop to them, like how cro cop does it.
@Harry-mf6rq10 ай бұрын
I don't know much about karate, but tkd does both. At least wtf tkd does. The more linear, 45 degree angle for the point scoring and the flatter angle for damage. Neither come out as wide as what Gabe demonstrated though
