Hey there, dude. i watched this video with no volume, so i wanted to ask a couple of questions to clear things up. 1. Do i need to use shiftlock? 2. As a DB, do i always need to jump or dive for the ball? 3. Would this be applicable in similar games? Ultimate Football, Football Legends, etc. 4. How would i be able to deal with drastic ping changes? when I had T mobile, i was averaging around 140 to 230, and i was catching balls like crazy, I switched to Verizon, i average 30 to 80, but now i got a 2-6 win loss ratio. P.S: I liked the way you drew examples. It gave me a better understanding and fit into my learning style perfectly 👌

@@RigBricks Thanks for the feedback! I’ll continue with creating visuals. To answer your questions: 1. You shouldn’t depend on using shift lock when playing around the whole field because it can mess with your depth perception. Only utilize shift lock when dealing with slants because it increases the effectiveness with your horizontal hitbox. 2. In general, jumping and diving is simply a method of catching and it’s not required when playing all the time. As a defender, you should keep in mind you can swat throws that are slightly out of reach. Otherwise, try to avoid diving as a defender so you don’t lose yards if you manage to intercept. 3. I haven’t played other football games that much so I don’t exactly have a say in those, but I assume that most common mechanics of football would apply to those games so it should still be valid. I’m currently working on a full guide to Football Fusion to answer all the common questions, so there will be a lot more information on that.

@@FloraLemonYT Hey, I just wanted to give you a little update on how I've been doing after listening to your advice: First of all, I've been doing way better than before, quite literally! My 2-6 win/loss ratio is now way better. 6-6 with a 5 win streak. I've been catching much more frequently and have been allowing fewer interceptions. Now I got a cool new clip of me diving over a DB's head to get the ball. As I said earlier, I'm completely winning games, and the scores aren't even close: 57-22, 46-15, etc. And in the main game I play (Ultimate football), I was game MVP. And I was on all 3 pedestals, defense, offense, and MVP. 🔥 Now, I don't know how old you are. Either way, I don't have a right to know. But have you ever considered becoming a teacher? By the way, I'm also looking forward to that full guide, I'll be there 👍

@@RigBricks thanks for the update! I’m glad to hear it’s going a lot better for you, I just know that the methods in this video are “outdated”. In other words, I’ve found better ways to explain the fundamentals of games like football fusion which I’m going to cover in this upcoming video. I have considered teaching others (mostly just friends), but I have trouble organizing my time; and, being able to teach others to a meaningful extent can be pretentious which is why I settled with a simple tutorial video. I know lots of people want to get better at the game, so I’ll try my best to teach everyone at once. If you want personal advice from me, feel free to join the Discord server, which is in the description. I can talk to you a lot easier on there. :)

I have a question 1. How did you know when to jump to not jump early or late
@FloraLemonYT17 күн бұрын
@@zahidchavez3600 to answer your question, most of the timing depends on your ping. Ping is basically how delayed the game is on your end to the actual server that it’s connected to. Make sure you know exactly how much ping you have when you enter a new server. If you have ping around 90 and above, you will have to jump kinda early.

I have a question. When I try to jump to catch, when I move my arms go the wrong way, and the football goes past me
@FloraLemonYTКүн бұрын
Sorry @@Dr-Edits-YT , I have trouble understanding what you’re asking. Your characters arms will always point towards the ball no matter where you move. Keep in mind that your screen has latency (delay) so the arms point to where the ball actually is in contrast to what it appears to be on screen. If the ball moves right past you, it’s because your arms don’t exactly gravitate to the ball instantaneously. You have to position your character directly at the ball so there’s no error. That’s why the ball can easy skim past you on your head or to the sides. I recommend using shift lock when necessary because it increases your horizontal hitbox for slants and such.
@Dr-Edits-YTКүн бұрын
@ oh ok, thanks for the explanation, it probably is because of my timing.

also i am really confused that when players say press the catch button at the peak so I'm guessing when it starts coming down?
@FloraLemonYT9 ай бұрын
@@OnlySkelloLOL It's a little hard to understand, but they are correct in some cases. When you click and your arms point at the ball, your arms are pointed at an angle, say 45 degrees. But, if the ball was thrown at a lower angle, and at a fast speed, it might actually go right over your head. This is because your arms are still positioned at an angle and don't point directly upwards. Still, a more reasonable approach would to jump and dive while following the *path* of the ball as opposed to just running and jumping towards the ball.

Does catching depend on ping
@FloraLemonYT6 ай бұрын
Yup! Your ping definitely affects when you should be timing your jumps; higher ping means you should attempt to catch earlier than usual due to more delay and vice versa. The main skill jump here is being able to adjust to your ping and understand the timing principles to always time your catches perfectly :)
