No matter what I do I can’t get rid of tension
@JACandQuill3 жыл бұрын
So, here's an odd one, ever since I started testosterone and my voice finally settled, I've had trouble with falsetto. I used to be 2nd soprano down to alto depending on what they needed, and I came out the other end low tenor/base. My actual range is 5 octives, the lower 4 in chest voice and the last (give or take a few notes depending on warm ups, health, etc) is in falsetto. I have years of training and practice from being in choir and CONSTANTLY singing, so my breath control and volume are fine. Problem is: because of that same training, my falsetto comes out sounding very operatic, and while I do hit and stay on the note, there is a bit of an (again operatic) tremolo. Which would be fine...if I were singing opera. But I'm not, I'm trying to sing stuff like the chorus to ToTo's Africa, which doesn't exactly work in that style lmao. The tremolo isn't just training either, I can't just focus and not do it like I can with other aspects. I know it's something physical (duh) but even after all these years I can't feel what's doing it- although to be fair my voice only settled about a year ago from HRT, but MOST of what I know still applies. Any advice?
@Dougzed3 жыл бұрын
Since your case is rather unique, i'd have to hear your voice to be able to give you advice on this issue. HRT obviously has huge impacts on the voice, but I'm not exactly sure how it would affect your falsetto sound unless I heard a clip of you singing.

Got me really depressed and suicidal because I indeed love singing. Losing that I thought I had lost it all. Thank God for my Support team I am still alive now. 5 Years and taught myself to sing. 2016-now Started with a range of G3-D4 2017/2018 I peaked/hit my ultimate prime vocally speaking. I recalled not transitioning between registers well, milk falsetto, not yet developed HV. However I was able to jump 1/2 octaves up/down my range that was cool. E2 to E1, F5 to F6, G1 to G0, and B5 to B6. I found way to expand my range. My lowest note a G0 and my highest was B6. it was insane, this was before the accident. Forget to mention that I was able to remain at 5th octave for 15 secs. Now I can sing Higher never expected it was possible though 2019-now my lowest everything F#2 because that damaged from Car accident impacted my sing a lot but I adapted to the setbacks it wasn't easy. at first i struggle to hit anything above F5...I strained/pushed a lot but now G5-A5 again. My voice is changing still explained to me why now A#5 is high now but G#5 is good. My Head Voice is still there. Hence that it may not be impressive but I can still stay at 5th octave for 10 secs. Funny thing that I never hit anything above B6 ever. Now C7s-D7s, G7s, C#8 rare, G8s and G9s. I feel because injury I was able to such notes, the emotion in my sing with technique dang. F2/G2 are not my best notes (Ab2-D#3-A4-E5-A5-(C6-D6))A6 (yes I hit supported C7s/D7s/G7s sometime i will not include them. But here my comfort range D3-G5 this take into account quality and tonality. A5/5#5 is good too E3, E4 and E5 seem disconnected i can't explain why please help.
