I wonder if this only applies to human voices. Do you enjoy the higher note instruments like violas more than basses? Or does the range a single instrument play in also have different effects on our brain? My guess would be no, since they are not living creatures and our brain does not see parallels to emotional attributes. Yet still someone bending the violin on an outstanding level can cause a lot of people to tear up and get emotional. Would love to know more about this. Interesting video!

While I like falsetto, especially Frankie Vallie’s stuff, I find that The Weeknd’s strongest songs, and hits are the ones where he uses his chest voice.
